Would you rather... hand over complete planning control to your parents or your future in-laws?

Would you rather... hand over complete planning control to your parents or your future in-laws?

Next question: Would you rather... have a dress that looks amazing in person but so-so in pictures or vice versa?

That's a tough one...my MIL is an organization freak, I'm pretty organized, but she puts the topping on the cake. However, my mom is an amazing cook, and knows how to hostess and throw a good party.

Hmm...we'd probably end up going with my parents. We spend more time with them.

    Oh man, this ones tough.

Before my mother had a stroke, she and my dad put on some amazing parties with delicious food. But she's not able to work hard and long like she used to, and I would hate to trouble her with that. But my dad can plan pretty well so...

On the other hand his parents have been retired for 5 years. But they aren't great at planning and never really have people over. They don't really know how to entertain. While they are both able, they are not so willing. My MIL complains a lot over the simplest tasks and doesn't see herself as creative. But my in-laws are easy-going and fun to hang out with.

    So... its a tough choice.

I'd rather hand it over to my future mother in law. For a woman in her 60s she really knows how to party without being over the top crazy. She's also great at decorating.

This is easy. Definitely my parents. Our "surprise" engagement dinner was this past Saturday and FH's mom was over an hour late and his dad didn't show up. She is late for everything and I don't care for her DIY decorations.

My mom would plan everything to perfection - annoyingly perfect actually.

I would hand over complete planning over to my parents. They know me better and have a better idea of what I would want. With my in-laws, they wouldn't have as good of a picture in mind.

Neither. Eloping this time around, folks will get a lovely “look who got married!” card once we’re back in the U.S.

Well my parents are technically already doing everything with my help. I don't trust his parents and neither does he. We'd be getting married in a bar if it was up to them.

My parents by far! My mom already suggested the venue we ended up choosing, and the dress I ended up buying! My mom knows what I want so I'd be completely comfortable handing it all over to her!

My future in laws without a doubt. My parents are much older and do not have much experience with these sorts of things.
