Would you be mad if your friend chose same wedding day as you?

Hey guys. So I have a friend that chose the same wedding date as me. Even though it is a year difference I did tell her that there was a 75% we would get married same date in 2017. She just got engaged about two week ago and I have been engaged since Christmas 2015 and chose the same damn date. Wtf...

    It's a year apart, I don't think it's a big deal.

@Ali yes there is a possibility. Aug 5 is my grandmother birthday and she is already too excited but if not I will just leave it at 2018

It's a year apart. No biggie. Plus, it's August. August is always going to be popular.

I don't think it is a big deal since it is a year away. Will be fun to celebrate your anniversaries together maybe.

Obviously your friend is flattered about "your wedding day". But if you going to be mad at her, be mad at everyone who is marrying on that day as well. It is not the same year, stop sweating it.

Not a big deal at all if it's one year later on the same date

Sorry, but I'm going to agree with other PP and say you are being petty. You don't own the date and you two aren't getting married the same year. It would a different story if she picked the exact same day and year. But she didn't.

You only get one day. Not one year.

My BFF and MOH got married the same day as I did the first time. Didn't bother me a bit.

If it was the same day same year then I would be upset. But 1 year apart? Not at all

Have you both booked venues for that specific day? If not, there's a chance one or both of you would change it.

I'd be a little upset if it was the same day and year, especially if it was a close friend who already knew my date, but in your case since it is a year apart, I don't think you can really be mad.

Actually, I think you have a right to be upset. If you were firm on your 2018 date, I'd say you're being petty. But you've mentioned multiple times that you and your FH were thinking about moving your date up a year to be on the same date in 2017, am I correct? In that case, yes, I'd be peeved, but probably not enough to end the friendship.

In a sense, you snooze you lose. Yeah, it sucks that she chose the date you were considering, but your date wasn't exactly firm, so it was still technically available.

Either pick another date in 2017 or just keep your original 2018 date. 2018 gives you lots of time to save Smiley smile.
