Your dress is gorgeous! Yeah I had the same situation because I know that my FH loves fitted dresses. So I got a fitted mermaid lace dress for the ceremony and then an a-line flowy Hayley Paige gown for the reception as compromise 😂

I initially wanted a slim fitting dress but it just didn't look good on my body! I ended up going with a-line because it flattered my shape so much better. We have to feel great on our wedding day, and I think you look so beautiful in this dress. If YOU feel beautiful in it, that'll show all over your face and your fiance will love it even more!! He'll know that's your dress.

Your dress is so beautiful I'd be surprised if he wasn't wowed. It is sheer-like and shows off just enough and looks like it compliments your figure very well. Are you an emotional person? If you're not that's probably why you didn't cry people feel things differently when they get their dress. TV has made it so that we think we're supposed to cry when we find our dress but really it depends on the bride. Some people get super happy some people just know and some cry. I'd say if it makes you feel beautiful and you know deep down that that is your dress where it. If you really want to wear a mermaid go for it but if it doesn't give you that wow factor in my opinion don't do it because you'll be wearing that dress. No matter what your fiance is going to think you look beautiful. But this is you all's wedding and you know how you both Invision it so do what feels right. Hope this could help.

I think the initial hesitation some have with A-line dresses is, well, they have no idea what we're talking about when we say "an A-line with a sweetheart neckline, pickups, lace overlay, and cathedral veil". I think in a simplified way for those who aren't into wedding dress fashion there is the cupcake ball gown that is so big he won't be able to hold you during the first dance or head to toe fitted. He seems to have some knowledge if he has mentioned the mermaid style, but I wouldn't take that as an end all, be all.

Let's be honest, he likes a tighter style dress because he loves your figure! This dress also gives you a lovely shape and he will love it, because 1. it's undeniably gorgeous/classy/sweet/hot and 2. YOU love it (and because, hello, y'all are getting married!) Put those dress worries to rest, and enjoy the process

I do wear mermaid style a lot to other events and things because he likes it. I did try on some mermaid ones and this one still gave me more of a wow factor when I put it on. I understand how you feel.
My fiancé asked if my dress showed off my booty and then when I tried to answer him, he said he didn’t want to know anything about my dress 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️
I think the big thing is that you felt amazing in it. I avoided mermaid styles because I have always been told that it’s difficult to pull off and next to no one looks good in them which sent my self-image concerns into overdrive. This is what I went with:
