Wording for Wedding favors?

Blair, on December 30, 2019 at 4:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

For my wedding, I've collected a few hundred vases from thrift stores that I'm making paper flowers for as decoration. In addition, there are about 5 vases that I already owned and am sentimental about that I wanted to include in the decorations.

I would love to give away the vases of paper flowers as wedding favors to anyone that wants, but I would like to keep those 5 vases that I care about.

I am looking for a way to indicate the ones that I want to keep, and wording for a sign to let people know that they can take a vase, except for the certain ones. I was thinking maybe a sticker on those vases that says something like "Kindly leave this vase for the bride and groom" or something else polite?

If it matters, there are also other wedding favors that we have made specifically. I am also planning to have a sign to let people know to take one of these home.

Thanks!

"Let let grow and take a vase before you go"

As for the ones you want to keep, maybe have those designated for your table only (if doing a sweetheart table).

    Cute wording. thanks!

No plan for a sweetheart table, so I think I need a sticker on them or something...

Unless they’re on your table or an accent table vs a centerpiece you should be prepared that they may potentially be taken. A few drinks or ambient lighting and guests won’t see the sticker. It’s kinda hard to tell your guests to take the centerpiece but not a specific few. It’s either take them or don’t, otherwise it gets complicated. Maybe try putting the ones you want on a card table or something instead.

Just don't include them with your favors. Instead use them as decor for the wedding so you still have your theme.

You're absolutely right. Thanks for the straight talk! I'll put someone I trust in charge of collecting those few vases after dinner is over. (we've got to rearrange a couple of tables before the dancing starts, anyway, so that will work fine). That way, we get to enjoy them, but then tuck them away before they start walking off.

    Cheers!
