Wording for loved ones deceased in wedding program..

Kaylin, on September 16, 2011 at 5:13 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

My father died of cancer this past January and my grandpa passed away this past March, so I am looking for some kind of short poem , wording etc. that describes that even though they arent not here today that they are looking over us etc. ... I would be putting this in my wedding program. I'm not having much luck on google. any ideas would be greatly appreciated..

    Here is one if you would like to light a candle and say it aloud?

    Although death has separated us physically, faith and love have bound us eternally.

    Though we cannot see you, we know you are here.

    Though we cannot touch you, we feel the warmth of your smile, as we begin a new chapter in our lives.

    Today we pause to reflect upon those who have shaped our character, molded our spirits and touched our hearts.

    May the lighting of this candle be a reminder of the memories we have shared, a representation of the everlasting impact you have made upon our lives

    FOUND ONE!

    “Although we cannot see you

    We know that you are here

    Smiling down, watching over us

    As we say “I DO”

    Forever in our hearts

    Forever in our lives

    And so we say our vows in

    In loving memory of you

    This light shines

    as a symbol of life

    and love remembered.”

    My grandma passed away a few months ago as well and I am thinking about framing a wedding picture of her and my grandpa (also deceased) and setting it at a table. You could do something like this printed in your program as well.

    Dear Lord please clear a spot for him:

    he should have the perfect view.

    His little girl's a Bride today,

    and I am counting on you.

    Let me feel his presence;

    as I journey down the aisle.

    But let me notice his absence;

    if only for a while.

    Let me stop to think of him;

    As I am given away.

    And know that if he could;

    he would be here with me today.

    Dear Lord please clear a spot for him;

    he should have the perfect view.

    And if he should get sad today;

    Dear Lord I count on you.

    or

    on a candle....

    In Loving Memory of those who could

    not be with us to share our special day

    For those we have loved and lost along the way,

    A flame to remember them burns here today.

    For the laughter, smiles and memories remain,

    Together today their presence sustains.

    Never forgotten and loved forever more,

    Today their blessings flicker and soar.

    Kinda like Cydney's

    and another is saved to my profile.

    Although we cannot see you,

    We know that you are here.

    We feel the warmth of your smile,

    And can sense that you are near.

    And we want for you to know,

    Your love is still our guide,

    Memories carried in our hearts,

    You are always at our side.

    It's so sad you wi€™ll not be here,

    On the day we say "I do",

    And so we say our vows today,

    In loving memory of you.

    Thanks everyone.. i chose to go with..

    Through the years their comfort, wisdom, and unconditional

    love has helped shape who we are.

    They are here today, watching over us and smiling

    as we begin our new life together.

    Their love for both of us will never be forgotten,

    as their memories will live on forever in our hearts

    Aw, I am crying I lost my dad too when I was yong, I was adopted and my adopted father assed away 3 years ago next month. I miss them both so much, I think the hardest thing fo a bride is not having her father on her wedding day. I hop you find the perfect way to remember him on your happy day, sending lots of love your way. (=

    Wow, some of these brought me to tears!

    I am just including a small blurb in mine. No one super close to me is gone, though we think my grandfather, unfortunately, will be by then. I will be carrying a picture in my bouquet of he and my grandma, who will be married 66 years when we are getting married. At my at home reception (we are doing a destination wedding), which is what grandparents will be attending, I am thinking of having a little note for him mixed in with all the pictures of me and FI and our families; probably right under a wedding picture of he and my grandma.

    So, this, in the programs for the wedding, is super short and simple, but sweet I think...

    We also cherish the memories

    of those loved ones who are

    smiling down on this

    joyous event.
