Winter Weddings

Hi ladies! I have always wanted a winter wedding because of the beauty winter can bring. You are eliminating the heat and rain. But people think I'm crazy! "What if there's a blizzard?!" "People may not be able to show up!" What do you ladies think? Any other winter weddings in snowy areas?!

Our wedding will be in January of 2022. We live in CT and have no idea what the weather will be like it could be 60 or below 0 sun, rain or a foot of snow. But our venue is a hotel and everything is on location so guests won’t have to travel and many will probably arrive the day before and be leaving the day after. Most vendor contracts said unless the roads are shutdown they will be there (paraphrasing). I’ll probably get wedding insurance to recoup some money if something happens, but I don’t think we’ll need it. I’m kinda hoping we get a small storm around an inch for some amazing photos. Good luck!

Ours is in January 2021 in Iowa so very similar! We are having ours at a Winery and the hotel close by will provide a shuttle. I honestly hope we have a snow fall that day too! But I'm sure we can't get that lucky Smiley winking. Wedding insurance is a good idea, I'll have to look into that. Thank you, Happy Planning!!

There’s a risk of weather problems no matter what season you get married during! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Our is March of this year in Wisconsin. Could be a blizzard. Could be snowing. Could be raining. Could be warm. Could be cold. Could be perfect. Lol.

We've accepted the fact that if there is a blizzard we won't have a TON of people show up but that's okay! Although I am crossing my fingers for a blizzard free wedding! I wouldn't mind light snowfall but no blizzards please! Haha.

Fellow Iowa bride here, expect I get married in November 2020- my family said the SAME thing! I told them if I tried to plan for Iowa weather I would never be married. And honestly, you never know in January anymore. I'm like you, I'd rather get married not in the Iowa hot and humidity! Fingers crossed for an inch or two of the nice fluffy stuff on your big day!
