Winter Wedding

I’m having a wedding in December in New York. My dress is sleeveless and was wondering what you all winter brides will be wearing to keep warm. I thought of a white fur cloak but I’m not sure it’s for me.

I was a December bride too but in Sonoma so it wasn't as cold as New York. However, it was still chilly so I wore a vintage stole and got my bridal party faux fur wraps.

I'm getting married in late October in PA, so not as cold as you, but I'm still going to need something. I'm not a big stole or cape person. I'm a bit busty, with an hourglass shape, so something with no structure will make me look huge. Also, anything that adds too much pouf may not be the right call. I'm going to see if I can find a velvet blazer in a jewel tone or ivory.

What part of New York will you be getting married in? A fur wrap or cape/stole would be fine, especially if everything is indoors and you just want a few pics outside/going from.vehicle to venue etc. Depending on the area, you could end up with halfway decent weather. I've lived in Western New York my whole.live up until last year, and the oast few years, we have seem a warmer trend, where the cold doesnt really hit until late Jan, early Feb. We've had a few Christmas where it's been green and 50! You could still end up with snow and 20s though, so definitely be prepared for anything!

I’m from Queens but I’ll be getting married in Syosset. I’m hoping this is one of those years where it’s still 70 degrees on Christmas Eve! But I want to have a cover up just in case.

I’m getting married feb in Ohio, I expect it to be pretty cold. I am personally not a fan of fur but am looking for something similar. I saw some ideas on Etsy. I searched something along the lines of bridal shawl and found some ideas. Hope that’s helpful.

We got married in West New York last September, I got a faux fur coat for pics since I was obsessing over an Instagram pic I saw (also attached)

I'm doing October in New England. It could be 70 or it could be 20. I'm thinking of getting a back up cape

Hey fellow December bride! I plan on using a blanket scarf if needed- but winters are pretty mild here in MD at that time of year.

I'm getting married NYE and I was concerned about what I was going to wear since I'm so cold natured. But everything is inside so I think I'll be fine. Can you show a pic of your dress?

I went to a wedding up in the mountains, they had cute Jean jackets ( but didn't wear them for the ceremony) it's not as dressy but super cute! I bet you could get some with an extra layer( like thinner fleece) inside.

You have several cute options! Faux fur wrap (I rented one from a costume shop for our reception for about $30), scarf, Jean jacket or leather jacket.

I haven’t found what I’m wearing yet but I’ve been thinking about this for a long while! I’m getting married November 16 in North Carolina our fall/winters can be weird but I’m hoping for it to be cold. Here are some of the ideas I’ve been looking at! There are so many really fun and beautiful options. I know you’re going to find something that is all you and that will compliment your day perfectly! Good luck to you!

I had a friend who used large blankets. She got married in December in Wichita, it was about 12 degrees.

I ordered one of these (<-- link) capes to wear for my wedding in October (Northern Ohio). I tried it on with my dress just to get a feel for how it, and actually started getting too warm (inside my house, so I'm sure in cooler outdoor weather it will be perfect)

This is beautiful! But it’s not really my style. I think a leather jacket might actually be the way to go for me

This is perfect for my beauty and the beast themed wedding but I’m 5’0” so it may be too long for me
