Winter wedding colors

Kate, on July 5, 2019 at 12:33 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hi everyone so we are planning a December/January wedding small and it will be on my parents’ house. I need to determine the colors and pretty much everyone suggest red but I don’t want red on my wedding because it seems too much for me.
Someone suggested me the first palette but I really just wanted to have 2 or 3 color max and I don’t know how I would combine them. The second one I found it online it seems elegant but I don’t know what is the color of the ball. The second to last one they seem nice but I don’t know if they are winter colors. I don’t know I feel confused. What should I take into account when selecting my colors?

I think that the champagne and gold palette (second photo) is lovely. I don't typically believe that certain colors can only be used during certain seasons, but I do think that hot pink like the last photo is a little overwhelming, especially for a December wedding. The second photo, to me, is the most timeless and classic. It would be easy to find decor in those colors around Christmas.

Don’t worry about matching colors to a season. Are there any strong colors in your reception venue? I might suggest a color a palette that complements those, but if nothing stands out, you’re free to play.

You can always add elements to make a palette feel more wintery. For example, do you love pink? Perhaps choose a frosty pink instead of a warm blush and include silver or shimmery gold.

What’s your favorite color you’d love to include?

I love the second palette! I'm more partial to the soft/natural color pairings and I think it would be great for a winter wedding

I agree that the champagne and gold (#2) is really pretty and classic and I also really like the ivory, blush(I would sub rose gold) and gold (#3). I focused more on what colors we like than the season, and went from there. Do your parents decorate a specific way for the holidays that you could play off of for the wedding decor? Do they have color schemes that should be taken into consideration so they aren’t competing with the decor you select? Congratulations and happy planning!

You can't go wrong with white, greenery, and metallic- it's classy and timeless. We're also having a winter wedding but using shades of reds, greens, white, blush, and metallic accents. That worked for us because it goes with our venue's lodge style.
