Winter Wedding: Cardigans for Bridesmaids

Kellie, on October 17, 2015 at 7:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hi everyone! I'm having a winter wedding (February in MD), and I want my bridesmaids to have a cardigan as their cover-up. I've already looked into the different options - pashminas, shawls, boleros, etc - and my favorite look is the cable knit cardigan/fitted sweater. I'm going for a cozy feel; think fireplaces and candles.

These are some pictures that I'm using as inspiration:

And these are my bridesmaid dresses (each one is wearing a diff style neckline):

Any ideas for what stores to look at for cardigans? I've tried EVERYWHERE, and I just can't find anything.

Oh my goodness, that is ADORABLE! Honestly, I would just try places like marshalls, TJMaxx, etc. I personally prefer Ross but there they don't put a whole bunch of like items together with different sizes available you just go to your size and browse. So that would really only work if you were ok with them being in similar but non matching sweaters. If you want to spend a bit more then you could try places like Dillards, Macys, etc. It might still be a tad early in the year and that might be why you are having trouble. Perhaps if you keep looking they will get more winter things in soon. Stores around here are just now in the process of switching from swimwear to coats. If you want to go online you could try modcloth.

Love this idea, almost date twin! Definitely something they could use again too, as opposed to the faux fur shawls/boleros I've seen. Don't picture my friends wearing faux fur often, but who doesn't need a cozy cardigan?!

I would check out Target, Old Navy, Anthropology, and Urban Outfitters. It's almost hipster enough to be at a few of of the places, ha. Super cute idea!!

H&M has cardigans in their basics section in all colors! Definitely check them out! There is a H&M that has cardigan at the national harbor outlet (was just there buying cardigans, lol)! YAY for MD Brides!
