Winter Wedding Advice

Natalie, on October 17, 2019 at 12:00 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Hey fellow winter weddings!!!! I have a very important question for those of you who might be getting married while it's snowing. Have you thought about how you're going to keep warm on your big day? My dress is long-sleeved, but for a girl from SoCal, I doubt that will cut it! I need all the ideas I can get!

Our date just changed from May to February, so I've been looking into something warm to wear the past couple of days! I think I'll be purchasing these for myself and my bridesmaids Smiley smile

I am getting married in Michigan in late November so it is very possible that it snows. I’m just praying it doesn’t blizzard. I’m getting white faux fur gloves for me and I will be getting matching pairs for my bridesmaids. I’m also getting wool tartan shawls for all of us and ear muffs so that my ears can be warm and my hair won’t get messed up. I’m also going to bring my winter boots, which are white, but hopefully I don’t need those. We’re also looking at wool suits for the groomsman. And we will probably bring blankets in the transportation when we take pictures!!

Is your ceremony outside? How long is it? I'd consider things like heat lamps or firepits for guests & for you guys. Maybe those stick on hand & foot warmers, just for when you are outside?

One of my college friends had a January wedding in the Midwest several years ago. The bride wore a gorgeous white faux fur stole over her dress for their outdoor photos. It looked beautiful in pictures!

We'll have an early November wedding in Iowa, so we're trying to prepare for anything. I'm going to get my girls and myself each one of these so if its chilly we can bundle up.

Our date changed from May to February, too! Is yours 3 months earlier that originally scheduled or is it way later?

3 months earlier! My brother-in-law is being deployed and thankfully we were able to move everything up before he has to leave.

What are your guys plans for outdoor wedding pics? I have a kinda long train so should it be bustled if I’m walking/standing in snow? Or is it okay to get somewhat wet? Also not sure if I should wear boots or my wedding shoes which are basically sandals lol. Just don’t want my boots to show
