Wine based signature drinks?

Corinne_, on September 10, 2015 at 8:52 PM Posted in Planning 1 18

Our venue is in a Park, so only Beer and Wine are allowed, which is totally fine with us (and a great way to save money). We will provide our own alcohol to our caterer and the package includes a bartender that will serve it. She asked me if we'll only serve wine and beer or if we will include a wine based signature drink. Which made me think what there really is?

What wine based drinks can you think of (besides Sangria of course)?

Some of these look really good! Especially for a park setting!! Good luck!

Think wine spritzers - but with fresh fruits and juices! Riffs on Collins, Lemon Drops, etc. If you incorporate sparkling wine, the possibilities are endless!

@2016AUGBride, Google Blanc de Bleu. You may love it!

A french 75 without gin? Even just fruit or syrup infusions would be great. The best wedding extra I've ever experienced was an infused champagne bar. They had a dry champagne (prosecco would work really well too), a few types of fruit, and simple syrups with flavors like lavender, Rosemary, clementine, peach, strawberry, etc. it was a few years ago so I don't remember it all but I think I had like 4 glasses during cocktail hour so I could try a few different combinations!

I've had wine-a-ritas before made with some sort of white wine. They were pretty good - best in slushy form, but on the rocks isn't too shabby.

There are TONS of sangria recipes. We are actually going to meet with our caterer in the future to have a Sangria tasting (we will also taste appetizers for our reception and desserts for our rehearsal on that day). If you want I can share what's included in the different sangrias but I won't be able to tell you the amount of each ingredient (mostly because I don't know).

However, there is this winery that FH and I go to and they also do Sangrias with the spelled out recipes. I know one of them is a Mojito Sangria -- sounds good, but I haven't tried it yet.

You could do a white and a red wine sangria!

Full disclosure: The best Sangria I ever had was not only wine based (Don't ask me what all we threw in there, but it was more than one liquor and definitely Fanta too. It was during an exchange year in college and I was living with a bunch of people and some were Spanish Smiley smile ).

Champagne cocktails! It's champagne with a sugar cube and bitters. I like orange flavored bitters but regular bitters is yummy too. Also frozen fruit in champagne or white wine is tasty.

Ditto Champagne cocktails if you want to add a third drink category. You can also do a spritzer which is a 7-up or sprite and a white wine, or a popular Spanish drink Kalimotxo which is equal parts wine and cola over ice. Sounds crazy I know, but try it and it is actually pretty good!

Lots of cocktails to make with champagne! Bellinis, champagne and Pama (pomegranate liquor), champagne and St. Germaine, champagne punch...

Or, as I usually drink at weddings, just plain old champagne.

I had a cocktail once that had white wine, lavender, and I think some sort of vodka. It was literally the best drink of my life. Also, you can do lots of different types of sangrias. I went to a tropical themed event once and they had pina colada and mai tai sangrias. I was in heaven!

I too would like to know more wine signature drinks. Hard alcohol doesn't agree with my colitis. Anyone know any good spritzer type infusion drinks?
