Will You Be My Bridesmaid? How did you ask your friends?

Heeeyyyy! Ladies, I saw this really cute, "Will you be my bridesmaid ?" box on etsy. It looks like a great size to put a bunch of nice things and delectable items. What do you guys think of it? How did you ask your closest to be bm/moh?

I bought my ladies tanks and tumblers and I REGRET it. It was a waste of money. The things I bought were cute (as are the boxes you posted!) but I would recommend just asking them!

I think the box is great idea! Just because everyone else didn't want to do it in a cute way doesn't mean you can't, I think it makes it fun and exciting!

I text my 4 best friends and said "hey bitches I'm engaged want to stand on my side for the wedding"

They agreed as long as I supply them with booze and cool suits.

ETA I asked them early because it's technically a DW for them.

I gave each BM this. I had fun doing them. I decorated and painted the boxes and the little baggies. If I can use my craftyness, I always do.

I also did the balloon pop. It wasn't extravagant or showy just cute. Most people will tell you not to waste your time doing this. For me, it wasn't a waste of time and each time I asked one of my BM's they cried. They felt honored that I went out of my way to ask them in a unique way and they told me so. (It was unique to them, even though bridesmaid proposals are very popular now) I do recommend you wait since your day is so far out.

ETA: My DH thought it would be funny if he asked his groomsmen in a funny way since I did something special for my BMs, so every time he asked a groomsmen he got down on one knee. It was pretty hilarious!

@S&J, it was awesome! The groomsmen got kind of freaked out like, what are you doing bro? Hahaha My DH later told me that he thought it would be funnier because guys hardly ever get proposed to, especially on one knee. Smiley smile

Please listen to everyone else and wait until about the 9-months-to-go mark to ask your bridal party. If I had a dollar for every girl who posted on here about wanting to unask a bridesmaid or groomsman even though they were best friends, I'd have....a lot of dollars.

I just asked them. Two bridesmaids were relatively local, so I asked them in person. Two weren't local, so I skyped with them.

I ordered cards from etsy and bought nail polish in my wedding colors, champagne, and some chocolate and made a little gift bag. I think it's cute to do something, just make sure it's practical if you're spending a decent amount on it. While mine wasn't over the top, I would have rather saved some of that money to go towards their gifts on our wedding day.

I asked my bridesmaids to be my bridesmaid by getting a box and putting will u be my bridesmaid? On the top lid and a ring pop in glittered tissue paper in the bottom it was so cute !

I called two of them (bffs from college) to tell them we were engaged and I asked them when I told them. They already knew though since all three of us have been in each other's weddings. I asked FH's cousins together in person. FH and I facetimed with my brother, SIL and niece and asked all three to be in the wedding at the same time. I personally find the proposing to bms to be an extra expense that isn't really needed.

Sorry ladies, it's too late, I already asked my friends like the day after I got engaged back in April. I had no clue about waiting to ask before I did, but my friends said yes. I am actually doing it to be cute and fun. all my friends know it is destination wedding so they are kind enough and financially able at the moment to commit. I am year and four months away so I was gonna give it to them at the 1 year mark in June. More so to see if everyone can still go and also to make it fun and to show my appreciation for them making an effort to come. If things change I will completely understand and not hold anything against them. @FutureMrsHarris I saved the name of the seller to my favorites at work, I will post it when I go back to the link tomorrow.

I asked my ladies in December and gave them an ornament. They all knew they were going to be in the wedding. I just wanted to give them something nice and I always love an excuse to craft!
