Will it be safe to hold a wedding in early June with the Coronavirus?

Is anyone postponing their wedding? Any guests canceling?

Our wedding is April 4th, and so far no one has cancelled and we're going ahead as planned. I assume some people might elect to miss it, but more than likely it'll be ok.

I'm a June bride. We're holding off on invitations a while longer. In 2 weeks our big payments are coming due. We're kind of at wait and see for the next 2 weeks. I'm in Missouri and we only just had our first case identified this weekend.

I'm the same with Kathryn, we're April 4th and no one has come and said they aren't attending now. All our rsvps are in. Maybe some may not show up the day of , but nothing we can do about that.

June is still a few months away. I'm sorry but you shouldn't stop living life and putting life on hold due to the coronavirus. There may be a few declines and people may not want to travel but that shouldn't stop you from having your wedding or postponing.

We are late May and are not making any changes. If some people choose not to come, that is on them. I am still having my wedding and will have a wonderful day. No need to stress about what you can't control. There is also no way to know what is going to happen. This could all be over by then or it could be significantly worse.

You'll be fine in June. It's my wedding in 29 days that I'm worried about.

I'm May 23 and I'll be getting married that day at my venue regardless. If people don't want to show up, that's their choice. I agree with a PP, we cannot put our lives on hold for a virus. Just be smart about it.

We are March 21 and are planning as usual. We have only 1 confirmed case in our state in the US so I'm not too concerned.

We may have about 10 guests not show up since they are flying in from different states, which I would totally understand.

As long as you are not travelling into a "hot zone" as WHO calls the really affected areas, and you have no guests coming from those areas (like Italy), I don't see a reason to cancel! June should be fine! Smiley smile

My wedding is in September and half the attendees are international. I live in San Francisco and the wedding is up in wine country. Even though it's 6 months out my finance and I are considering postponing for a year. We would probably still get married in Sept, but at city hall and then have the big party a year from now. However, i only have like 9 more days to make that decision due to my vendor contracts

What are the logistics for postponing a wedding in the US? I haven't committed to any vendors except the venue. But I suspect I will most likely postpone.

How International are your guests? Have they expressed concerns?

Thank you everyone for your comments. The situation is escalating quite quickly.

I would continue planning your wedding as is and whomever can’t go or can’t risk it or aren’t comfortable with risking it then it is what it is.

20% of my guests are from Europe, 20% from Latin America and about 40% are in the US but would have to take a plane to come to my wedding. My guest count is 135. If only local San Franciscans come to our wedding, we're looking at a guest list of about 25 people. Realize neither my immediate family or my finances immediate family is local. So we may postpone as all we would have is coworkers at our wedding at this point Smiley tongue

I am on April 25 and really not sure what to do. Postponing by two months doesn’t seem like it will really be incrementally a big difference. Maybe if I push to November but I feel like we just want to move forward with this. What have you thought about what do you think?

This forum is helping me a lot put things into a context. I am really sad as I put in a lot of work into planning and my heart goes out to all... I think I need another two weeks before making a decision. This is definitely very emotional on many levels.

That's an old post. We already postponed to August on Friday because Dallas is on lockdown and some of FH's family are in quarantine. Guess we got there early.

Thanks! We're currently relearning what cooking means and if we can stand each other for two full weeks at least. So kind of like a staycation honeymoon with us working remote. Lol but it'll be good! We're looking on the bright side.
