Why do things always go wrong at the last minute??

Jennifer, on September 14, 2009 at 10:40 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

It's nothing earth shattering - it's just the little things in the final days before my wedding. My hairdresser disappears. FH gets in a fender bender - luckily he's fine but there's damage to his car. $$ we don't need to be spending now. FH's tux fits all wrong. And the forecast for my wedding is rain!!!! It's been smooth sailing up til now.....guess I was nuts to think nothing would go wrong. But...at least it's all minor stuff!!! This time in 5 days I'll be MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big deep breath!!! Hope you didn't pay your hairdresser in full beforehand. Easy to fix...if you have a make-up artist, I'm sure she knows someone who'd be happy to fill in. Take tux back & demand it get fixed...it's not what you paid for & there's still time (maybe start over with a fresh one?). Rain? Great photo op!!! Get a huge umbrella in one of your wedding colors....actually get enough for all the bridesmaids. You can do some really cool photos with them...I know it's not your ideal photo op, but if you have a good photographer, he'll have some great ideas. Should also be able to get some beautiful window photos with you looking out & water running down the glass. The fender bender....sorry to hear it, but thankfully he's okay. Rain means good marriage blessings...

Hang in there! You're in the home stretch....just keep making lots of lemonade...maybe add a little champagne to it! : D

I had a similar scare recently with my caterer! I called them a week and a half ago and no return call. Tried two other times with still no return call. Finally I called the bakery that they use for their cakes (she's in the same shopping plaza) and asked her if they were still in business! She assured me they were and double checked the number for me. Well, needless to say, that's the day I got a call back. But everything's back on track now so...Any way, good luck!

3 more days.....met with a new hairdresser (same salon) last night, she can do what I want. FH got tux refitted - they had put him in a jacket that was a size too big. And the forecast for the weekend is BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm sooooo excited!!!!! Having to work the next 2 days is going to be torture!! LOL

I agree with Laura...I DID write a huge laundry list of things that went wrong...things I couldnt even make up if i wanted to...but it still turned out gorgeous and was fun and I dont regret a moment of it. Just know that things WILL go wrong and youll be fine. Just enjoy your new husband and honestly nothing else will matter
