Who's walking down the aisle to Canon in D?

It's either Canon in D or Ave Maria for me. I hadn't even thought about the timing yet. But I think I'm going to use a live string quartet for the music because it wasn't too expensive, so I'm sure they would just figure it out.

I am! I think I'm going to have the whole WP use just the one song, and time it so I come in at the famous part (I don't know how else to describe that section).

@Bittsey I'm doing the same thing. The recording that my church has of Canon D is at 2:06 into the song. That's how I'm going to explain to the organist when I'd like to enter! I'm also going to ask her to "amp" it up a bit when it's my turn so everyone knows I'm coming I think I'l have Ave Maria for the seating of the Mothers.

I LOVE Canon in D. BUT -- I sort of want a different version. Thanks To Gravity, a New England band, did a "cover" of this piece and added words at the end. The word are about a breakup, actually, but the instrumental version of Canon in D, which actually ends with some pretty amazing percussion (very unexpected) is a really great surprise. I am! My cousin's 3 kids are learning on violin. I told their instructor to just teach them how to fade out at any given time once I reach the altar.

We had the bridesmaids walk in to Canon in D and I did the Bridal March.

Since we have an organist and violinist, they just watched and when the girls finished their walk, they stopped the song.

We used it for family / teeny wedding party processional ... my musicians did all the magic with where how to make it work for us... whew!

Our aisle was like 15 feet long. We did cannon in d. I had it so I walked to the famous part. I had our violinist play my wp down the aisle starting a few min before, then the pianist joined her for my part of walking down then faded out.

We used about 3 min of the song

My BP walked down to Canon in D. I loved it, but I walked down to Bridal March.

I want to use Brian Crain's version of this song but I am worried about this too! I want the BP to go down to Piano Guys "A Thousand Years" cover so I dont know what to do. That version is like 5 minutes long and while I have a long walk, its not gonna take me 5 minutes...

I am thinking about it. Or ava maria I also LOVE Christmas Canon but it is a fall wedding so don't think it will fit to well

My WP is walking down to Canon in D, the aisle is 80 feet long so not for sure how much of the song will be used, myself I'm walking down the aisle to Trumpet Voluntary as the catholic church does not aloud the wedding march

I'm walking to Canon in D, the church is pretty small though so the bridal is heading down the aisle to the same song and when the tempo picks up, that is when I will walk

My Bridal Party will walk to Cannon in D, my guess is they will use the whole song, I didn't even think about it.

I will walk to Te Deum from Charpentier. It makes me happy just listening to it. :-)

I was going to use this song, probably still will whenever the date comes cause I love it that much. I was going to what bittsey is doing, use it for the entire processional so that it cresendo's right as I made my entrance....

I love Canon D..My bridal part will walk out to that and i will walk out to The Piano guys version of " A thousand years" originally by christina Perri..They both are long songs but dj can fade them out.
