Who's setting up your decor and centerpieces for your DIY wedding

Morning !! I'm thinking of DIY my ceremony decorations and reception centerpieces... I was just wondering if I should pay someone to set up for both events because I rather have someone solely dedicated for it ... Did you have a family friend or a paid person to do it ?

My mom and DOC will be setting up some decor - but my florist will be setting up my centerpieces!

I'll be doing it the morning of my wedding with the help of my bridesmaids and my mom. There's a wedding the night before my wedding so I can't do it then.

ETA: I want to ask my DOC to do it but how will she know where I want some of the DIY projects?

Our venue came with a coordinator and i hired a day of as well so they set everything up. i didn't want any of our family or friends to worry about that on the wedding day since they all had to get ready too.

I did, along with my family. If it's a lot of decor I would recommending hiring someone to do that.

Our florist is doing the set up for us. Even though we aren't doing floral centerpieces. The venue doesn't do the setup so I asked if she would. She just added a small setup fee.

My fiance and I will be setting up with our families. If no one books our venue the day before, we can have access to it that night, but have to plan to be able to set up in the morning.

We will be setting up a few things the day before. Most likely just FH and I since it's only 5 tables and the sweetheart. We will get to the destination the Friday morning and our bridal party (atleast some of them) won't get there till that night so we have sometime to ourselves to do this ourselves. They have volunteered to help when they arrive but since the venue will setup alot for us already (tables, lights, table settings, etc) we can't imagine having to do much other than the centerpieces. Florists will do their thing the day of (with the help of the coordinator) while we are getting ready.

The venue's staff will do setup and strike because it was included in our reception package. My goal is to have no work to do on May 7th.

We rented the space for the day before as well as the day of. Honestly, we wanted to do it ourselves. It was me, my mom, my dad, my aunt, my MOH, her husband, and my DH. Later in the day my FILs showed up but just for the rehearsal, they didn't help with the setup.

We were able to set up the day (Friday) before. MY mom, SIL, me, DH, brother and Dad offered to help out. It was a family affair! My BMs helped a little but it was an OOT wedding so they came after work and helped with what was left after the RD. Which was totally fine with me :-)

I was *very* minimalistic and had no decor. A friend's mom heard I was skipping favors and asked if she could make some (she tied a Hershey's Hug and a Kiss in a bag-- they were cute) and she threw some wedding themed glitter on each table-- it was more than enough for me!

We have our venue from 8AM-2AM so we're doing the set-up since we're having a night wedding.

We are getting a DOC for the day, but I intended on going to the venue the day before to set up décor and centerpieces. We are getting linens from the caterer so now I'm hoping we can get those the day before and have them on the tables before we set up the centerpieces.

The venue is providing our tables and chairs, but I believe we need to put them all where we want them.

My DOC is probably going to turn into a few days lol. I'm just happy she is an acquaintance and is very skilled in wedding set up. We are designating her to pick up our bouquets and bouts the day of!

@Lindsay - Whenever we have DIY decor items (centerpieces, welcome table, etc.), if our clients have a specific way they envision it, we ask them to do a mock setup and send us a picture. We bring the picture with us on the wedding day and do all set up.

Sometimes our clients have items, but no idea how they want it to look, so we play around with it until it looks picture-perfect Smiley smile

I've got a dear friend who is a project manager. I've hired her as my day-of coordinator. She'll meet all the vendors, set out the decor and make sure all of the clean up is done. She's also been great about letting me bounce ideas off of her ahead of time and making suggestions.

Because she's a friend - she's really listening to what I want - I want clean, simple lines... with a little bit of an eclectic feel. The ceremony will be short & sweet, the food will be buffet and very relaxed and easy going.

Because she likes to be in charge, she'll just 'handle' all those day-of situations where you have to make quick decisions and not be afraid to just call a change in plans if that's what it's going to take.

My venue coordinator is setting all of it for a small additional fee. To me, it was more than worth the extra hundred bucks to not burden my family or stress about it.

Several people from our church has volunteered to hep with the decorations. I trust them so I believe I'm going to use them.
