Who's Invited to the Bachelorette Party?!

guerita, on March 8, 2010 at 9:27 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

I'm coming up with my list of invitees for my bachelorette party and I'm wondering who's invited besides my MOH (only bridesmaid) and best friends. Do I have to invite family such as my sister-in-laws, mom, grandma, etc? Help!

    I told my MOH that I just wanted the wedding party and close friends invited to mine. I'm sure it will get kind of crazy and I wouldn't want to have some of my conservative family there! : )

    That's what I was thinking. I'm not sure my mom could handle it all. My grandma on the other hand would be up for anything. I do want my sister-in-laws though cuz they're all a ton of fun!

    Invite whoever you want! I don't think there are any concrete rules.

    Any ladies that are invited to the Wedding and that you'd like to share the evening with, are the ones you'd invite.

    I'm having the BP and other close friends in the younger range. We're going away for the weekend, too. It's totally up to you and want you and you MOH want to do!

    Well if you start off with a nice dinner someplace, then your older relatives could be invited to that part like mom and mom in law, aunts, grandmas etc. then they can go home and the bridesmaids and other wedding guests can continue the party with some debauchery, whether it's drinking, penis jokes etc. I don't know if you can invite people who are not invited to the wedding tho, I think like for your shower you have to stick with the wedding guest list.

    Bachelorette parties used to never involve parents or other relatives not in the wedding party. It is your "last single night out". But it has become more common practice to include those guests as well. So it is completely up to you.

    @Sawtoothbride Thanks! I wasn't considering inviting people that aren't invited to the wedding. That's a big no-no!

    @Christine I don't feel comfortable inviting people to the party that aren't invited to the wedding.
