Who's going wedding dress shopping with you?

I'm trying to keep it to a minimum. It'll be my mother, my FMIL, my MOH and one bridesmaid.

Do you know when you will start looking for dresses? Have you seen any that you love yet?

Honestly, I still have a lot of time before the wedding so I am not too worried. Perhaps I will go during the spring or beginning of summer! I have only seen dresses of which I like certain parts. Like just the neckline, or just the sleeves. Nothing I would 100% wear.

My mother and my grandmother! I wouldn't have wanted anyone else. - maybe my sister too. We went just to try some stuff on and see what I liked - ended up finding the one! second dress i put on.

I went dress shopping with my sister, college friend, fiance, and future mother-in-law, but when I finally found the one, only my mom was with me. Super intimate for us and even more special!

You're totally right to take your time in choosing something that you love!

I brought one person with me - not even a close friend - and that was perfect. I don't have any close female friends in the area (my mom and best friend live where I grew up four hours away and schedules/traveling can get super complicated) so I scheduled my appointment for mid-week and planned to go solo. My fiance felt kind of bad and suggested I bring this girl (who my FH has known forever, is married to his good friend, helped us celebrate our engagement, we went to their wedding, etc and she's just this delightful person) because she had a flexible work schedule during the week. She was so much fun to dress shop with! She was able to share her experiences wedding planning and dress shopping, helped me get into dresses, took photos for me so I could share them with my mom and other friends, and made shopping for dresses feel a lot less intimidating. It was actually really great to go with someone who was super invested in our happiness but didn't have any preconceived ideas about what our wedding (or my dress) should look like.
