Who wore their rings before the wedding?

Mrs.L, on September 25, 2016 at 5:30 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 25

My fiancé and I just got our rings in on September 19. We were so excited that we have decided to go ahead and wear them before the "I do's." In case anyone wants to see them, i did include the pic in this post. Smiley smile I just want to know if anyone else has done this. Is it bad luck?

Not sure if it's bad luck or not... my FH actually proposed with the e-ring and wedding ring (they interlock), and until I got it resized, I wore them both. It was the only way the band was thick enough to get a small piece of tissue behind it lol! Now I only wear the e-ring though.

FH is super excited to get to wear a wedding band. He's gotten grumpy a few times about how it's so obvious to the world I am engaged, but not him.

My FH is jealous that he can't wear a ring yet, so sometimes he wears it around the house to "surprise me." And I'll do the same to him. At first I was worried about bad luck but he's so excited to wear it, and I love that.

FH started wearing his band as soon as we got it in the mail and hasn't taken it off since!

FH and I wear ours around the house because we are so excited but we don't wear them for long or out in public. Don't regularly wear them before the wedding! I think it would be more special that way.

I am not sure if this is just an old saying but when we told my husband brother that we were going to wear our rings, he told us not to wear then until the ceremony. He is a pastor......but if you choose please be careful with the rings.

BTW: don't be surprised if people who are invited and see the rings before hand so not show up to the wedding

My fh has worn his around the house to try and get used to it/see how it feels. I've not put mine on since we first got it to check that it fits. I just wear my ering but I can't wait to wear them!!!

Luck has nothing to do with your marriage. If you want to wear them, go ahead! We are waiting until the wedding to wear ours so they're nice and shiny because I'm awful at cleaning jewelry. Also because I want the first time I wear it (after sizing of course) to be when we are officially husband and wife.

@helen. Why the heck would people who see the bands not show up for the wedding? Are you daft? My FH has worn a band for the last 2 years. It was his idea because he wanted to show he was as dedicated to me as I am to him. He's getting a different ring for the wedding...

FH got one of those silicone bands for $25 online, because he was also jelly about it being so obvious that I'm engaged. I think it's cute and endearing. we'll wear our "real" bands after the big day.

When I bought FH's ring he wanted to wear it but I told him no. He said it's not fair because I get to wear one

@Helen people not showing up to the wedding because they've SEEN the rings?!?! That's absurd. Where did you hear that?

We bought my FH's ring back in March (he picked it out on his birthday)....he immediately put it on and only takes it off when he showers....it was odd for me at first seeing him with that ring on (happy but an "oh shit what if we jinx it" kind of odd). We still haven't bought my wedding band yet cause my engagement rings are oddly shaped (they have skulls around the stone and bones along the side) so it's hard finding one that will fit with it

My fiance is more excited about me wearing my full ring than I am lol but I still try it on every once in a while. It's not sized appropriately yet so I think that helps with the anxiety to wear it lol We get married in 67 days and we still have yet to look for him a ring

I just wear my ering and FH wanted to wear a ring as well so he just got a simple cheap ($1) black superman ring off the Internet. So he wears that. I can't wait to finally have the wedding band in. It is still being made grr.

This is what his ring looks like. Didn't get it from this maker or anything, but it looks like this one

I have a SEVERE nickel allergy so I'm wearing my band as a trial to see if I'm going to have a reaction. So far so good. But everyone is coming to see us walk down that aisle. It's not about the band but the love and commitment you have for each other in your heart.

I didn't I don't think it's bad luck but it's like "playing house". You're not actually married yet. The e ring is a promise... The bands signify making good on that promise. We "earned" our rings. It made the moment more special to wear them when we ACTUALLY were married.

He's been wearing his since he got it! It makes me so happy to see it there! I have an inexpensive placeholder ring until mine arrives. Smiley smile

We've both been so tempted so FH's parents are keeping them from us lol. We were at their house today and wore our rings for about 10 minutes. Smiley smile
