Who was the first person you told about your engagement?

I told a friend from work first. I had plans to get together with the girls from work that night. I texted her to cancel and told her why. We told my parents second. We wanted to tell them in person. I texted my mom to see if they were going to be home we might stop by. Well my mom was out to lunch then going shopping with her friend. She's always home so it was annoying me that she wasn't. I told her to let me know when she got home. 8 hours later she was finally home I thought I would burst.

My sister! I was calling her to see who was home ( I was hoping my whole family was at the house so we could tell them all at once) and she could tell something was up and pestered me until i told her! Then we went home and told my mom, and once my dad and brother got home we told them too!

So, we got engaged in Scotland with no cell phone service, except iMessages and Facebook messages once we had access to Wifi. We climbed Arthur's Seat & The Salisbury Craigs in Edinburgh, and that's where he proposed. Technically, there was no one there but a little bird, so the bird was the first to know! As far as actual people, we went out to celebratory lunch, and we kept quiet, then stopped back at the hotel to grab our rain coats, and then I texted my mum first. He had asked for my hand in marriage a few weeks before from my dad (my parents are divorced), so he knew first in my family, and then we were meeting up with FH's family in Germany a few days following that, and his immediate family all knew beforehand. Told them how sneaky they were, but how much I loved them. Haha.

Everyone already knew it was happening! My FH planned everything with my parents and my best friends! So I didn’t have to tell anyone, they already knew!! Haha He is so amazing! And I can’t wait to get married❤️ The day we got engaged, my parents had planned a huge party for us in the evening, so I got to see everyone I love and celebrate with them!

My mom, even though she knew it was happening, because I was up in a hot air balloon and she was in the chase vehicle on the ground following us!

The dogs! I came in from our garden, and my husband was sitting on a hassock, two large dogs sitting up in front of him, and FI was earnestly telling them the news. He was so embarrassed I heard! And said he was practicing. He called his Mom and Dad a few minutes later.

I sent a group text to my friends

Well, our parents already knew before I called to tell my parents. He met with my parents to ask their permission and got his grandmother's ring from his mom. He proposed with that ring but then we took the diamond out of it and I picked a new setting. I did call my parents and sisters first. My brother lives in Germany so I couldn't tell him until the next day.

I sent a group chat to my best friends, and then another group chat to my parents LOL.

I think we told my husbands parents first and then told mine right after.

My sister and brother-in-law (who happens to be my fiancé brother!) they were there with us when he proposed. After that, it was my mom and then his mom.
