Who was the first person you called (or texted) after the proposal? Who did share the news with first?
Lol FH proposed while I was in labor with our first child! Both of our families were there outside the room. But the first to know was the nurse who was checking my contractions! Haha. She was so surprised when she turned around and seen him kneeling beside me by the bed! It was surprisingly perfect!
First I called my parents. They were expecting my call. Funny story: FH asked my Dad at a Break-the-Fast party (post Yom Kippur meal) at a family friend's house. He told FH that he wasn't going to tell my Mom about because, as he put it, chances were that if she knew, then I would end up hearing about it from one of her friends! So Dad kept it a secret until the night before.
My parents had been visiting my brother and SIL for the weekend, so we went to join them all for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. That night, after FH and I went home, my Mom started talking about having dinner plans with friends the next day. My Dad told her to cancel those plans. Of course, she asked why and that's when he told her, my brother and SIL what was going to happen.
Meanwhile, I knew that we had plans that Sunday to have dinner with both of our parents. He popped the question before we left. I called EVERYBODY and those I couldn't talk to right away, I texted a photo of the ring saying, "I tried calling you first!"
My cousin was at a Sukkot party (Jewish harvest festival in a walled tent), so she got the text and she freaked out and told her family right away. Her daughter immediately requested to be a flower girl.
We celebrated with our parents that night at a Chinese restaurant.
I had proposed to her after I had cooked her a home cooked meal when she said yes. She kept flashing the ring in front of her sister till her sister finally caught on. She was extremely happy for the two of us and told us we made a cute couple.
I tried to call my parents but they didn't answer my first 5 calls! So I facetimed my best friend and maid of honor ( WHO ALREADY KNEW MY FIANCE WAS GOING TO PROPOSE!) while driving to my parents house (THEY KNEW TOO!)
First I called my sister (she helped pick out the ring without me knowing), then my parents, then his sister, then my sister, and then all my best friends.
My best friend! I sent her a pic of us with my ring clearly in the picture and she didn’t even notice! Lol
