Who to take wedding dress shopping???

I only took three folks with me the first time. My Man of Honor, Matron of Honor, and my Mother. Make sure you check with your shop first--mine did not allow more than three 'viewers' as it's a smaller, more boutique experience.

Remember those people can always accompany you on fittings.

My first dress appointment is next week, and I'm bringing three people: my mom, my aunt who is basically my sister, and my MOH.

I'd recommend picking the people who know you the best and who you trust not to steamroll your decisions. I want their opinions, but I don't want anyone trying to talk me out of or into something.

If you don't get along with your mom, why not a friend.. or just the sister and sister in law? I think fewer numbers (and people you do get along with) would make it easier to make a decision.

I took my mom, sister in law, and grandma. Keep in mind FMIL doesn't have to go. Unless you do really want her to. I felt a little guilty but got over it pretty fast.

Maybe just 2 people who you are really close with.

It was just my mom and me. We had planned to go to this store just to get ideas and try on some dresses b/c I had another appt the next day where my mom and 2 of my BMs were coming along. Low and behold - we found THE DRESS at the first store, and since it was an off-the-rack shop I couldn't just put it on hold b/c that wasn't an option. So we bought it and cancelled the next day's appt. I was a little bummed that I missed out on the experience of having some friends there, but it's even more special that it was a moment just my mom and I got to experience together.

I took my mom and 2 of my 4 bridesmaids were able to come. When my bestfriend got married she only took me.

If you don't have the best relationship with your mom then it might not be a good idea to invite her. If you're close with your sister and FSIL maybe you could just ask them?

My first Appt I was my sis and I. My second my mom joined. We don't have a BP. I wanted my MIL there but she lives in another country. I'd stick too as little as possible. Maybe ask your mom If she wants to join, but I wouldn't pressure here. Especially if you guys don't get along. At least you can say you invited her. If she chooses not to go, that's her decision. However it leaves room to say at least I invited.

Yourself. Checkout stores and narrow down your selections. Invite your mom or sister to have a second opinion if you like.

First time I tried on dresses was very informal. I was just with my mom. When I legit made an appointment, I took my mom, my sister, my cousin (MOH) and aunt. I recommend keeping it small and making sure at least one person will be totally honest with you.

I went alone. No drama, no conflicting opinions, and it made it so much easier to pick a dress I really loved. 10/10, would recommend.

I took my sister (MOH), mom, FSIL, FMIL, and my grandmother. Really who you take is dependent on your relationship with them. I took more than most but they all know me very well and I knew they'd be honest.

I'm taking my Jr. Bridesmaids only ( my 11 & 10 year old daughters! ) Kids are honest!

I went first with just my MOH. I didn't know what styles and silhouettes would look good on me. It was stress free and fun. When I narrowed down options for "the one" I made another appointment and brought my mom, dad, MIL, and MOH. I got to have a happy syttd moment without hearing any negative comments. It was nice!
