Who supplies cups for wedding dress?

AG, on June 7, 2018 at 5:57 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I'm taking my dress to the seamstress on Saturday, and she told me to bring in shoes, undergarments, etc.

I want cups sewn into my dress but I am very small on top (not even an A cup) and its really important to me that the cups are not too big. People know what I look like and I don't want it to look like I'm trying to look a certain way if that makes sense.

I know a lot of brides have this done. Did you supply the cups? If so, where did you get them? If the seamstress supplied, did any other girls with small busts find that they had the right size for you?

Not sure if this is tons of help, but I had a bridesmaid dress I wanted cups sewn into. I bought some off amazon and my seamstress sewed them in.

Ask your seamstress. Many will have options in shop but others prefer you to get them. Even if you need to provide them, it would be wise to ask for advice for what to look for

If you are concerned about having the correct size I would bring the ones you want. Like the person above said amazon would be a good option or my local Joanne’s fabrics sells them as well. I have the opposite problem where I am very busty and need to make sure they are big enough so there is not spillage but not to big so that the strapless dress also stays up. If you can find them in person to make sure they are. The proper size that would probably help, or if you go the amazon route just make sure you can return/exchange them if they come in and are not what you need.

My seamstress said to buy a cheap bra with some padding from target and bring it to my next fitting. She is going to cut off the straps and back to make cups to sew in so they fit perfectly.

My seamstress provided them for me. I’m a smaller size as well and I had no problems with how it turned out.

I was planning on bringing in one of my normal bras. Not sure if that will work but I hope it does. I also have the small bust issue but worse because I'm plus size. Nobody makes cups that fit me right so I get a band size too small and use extenders. I can only use the very sexy from vs because it has enough padding to look normalish without caving in.

We found a couple of different styles of cups (one more push-up padded, another less so) online and found out that Kohl's carries them in stores in the lingerie dept. We also found strapless, backless "sticky" bras at Target. Both options come in a variety of cup sizes. (And, if you can find the right size in a local store, you'll be able to see it in person, rather than hoping something ordered online is the right size/style.)

I actually went today and she did have a bunch of options! However, none were the right size/shape so I'm going to order some of my own and bring them to my next appointment. But it kind of seemed like to me that ~most~ seamstresses who specialize in wedding dresses will probably have some on hand!

I went to my seamstress on Sunday and she had nothing. I have to supply whatever items. She does lots of wedding gowns, too. Very odd. I agree. Seems like she would carry something.
