Who picked out your ring?

So FH and I had just celebrated 10 years together when he proposed. We had talked about marriage, but I had never described what I would want in a ring. He totally surprised me with a proposal, with a ring that is exactly what I would have picked! I’m picking out my own band though.

I picked out both my engagement and wedding band.

Love this! FH ended up custom making my ring with the jeweler after not finding the perfect ring in store (my only request was rose gold but the selection of rose gold is very limited). FH got such a diamond and jewelry education from the jeweler and he takes so much pride in knowing so much about what went into making the perfect ring.

I actually made a wish list on a jewelry website, he figured out my login and password and bought one right from my list. It comes with a matching wedding band so that part was chosen when he chose the engagement ring.

FH picked out my engagement ring and had it perfectly sized before he proposed with it. I had told him that I wanted an amethyst or sapphire ring years ago. I swear that's like the only thing he has remembered that I said in the last 10 years. The amethyst halo he chose is perfect for me. We're picking our own wedding bands (which likely won't match) and actually thinking about working with a guy to make them ourselves- not just design, but physically make them.

My fiance picked out my engagement ring. Very shocking because we always joked about getting engage. Which is the way he purpose to me. We went together to pick out the wedding band but I had him pick it out. I did tell him things I hate and things I love.

I inherited my great grandmother's gold wedding band from 1919, and he added a 3ct London blue topaz to it with a white gold setting. So it was a collaborative effort.

My fiance picked out an engagement ring which was beautiful, but my wedding ring set actually was handed down from his grandmother. I'll be taking on the family ring.

I unknowingly picked mine out. We went to look at rings because I wanted to see rings in person before I just told him what I thought I liked. I fell in love with one but at the time he told me he wouldn't be able to buy for at least 6 months. Long story short, he lied, bought the ring and proposed 6 months later.

My family owns a jewelry store and my fiance knew there was one ring I loved that was a replica of some vintage ring worn by some random person that I can't remember now. It's been too long since I heard the story. But when my fiance went to pick out a ring, everyone knew which one was for me. I absolutely love it. He is picking out the wedding bands, but he knows the style I want.

He asked me to pick mine out because he felt clueless.

It was lively to hear him telling me about his experience, how many rings he saw and went several times to check them out until finally pick the ring, he proposed 6 months after he already bought the ring, he says, he was waiting for the right moment, he was right the moment and the day he proposed was amazingly beautiful.
