Who pays the event fee? i know the bride pays for the venue..... Thanks!

Today, it's more common for brides and grooms to split the cost of the wedding in its entirety. Sometimes family may offer to pay for certain things, but otherwise there isn't really a "bride pays for this and groom pays for that" kind of thing nowadays.

In today's society, the couple (bride AND groom or bride/bride, groom/groom, depending on the relationship) getting married pays for all wedding expenses jointly.

Sometimes parents will offer or demand to pay and dictate how the money is spent which is not what the couple wants so they pay themselves.

The couple is responsible for paying for their own wedding. Anyone else can offer to pay, whether partially or in full, but it is not expected or required.

Like others have said, the couple shares the cost nowadays, and if anyone wants to contribute, they can!

My FH and I are splitting the cost for everything! My mom offered to pay for half of our venue, and FH's parents are paying for our rehearsal dinner! Everything else is on us! Very few people go by the 'bride's family pays for this...groom's pays for that" thinking.
