Who on here made bridesmaids buy their own dress?

All my BMs paid for their dresses.

My BM's are buying their own dresses

My girls are buying their dresses and I am paying for them to get their hair done

It's completely expected as a bridesmaid, to pay for your dress.

All 14 are buying their own dress and shoes but I was consider it..they're be out of less than $100 for both items together

It's normal for BMs to pay for their own dresses. My BMs did, but they picked their own dresses in the color, length, and fabric that we had agreed upon. I made sure that the store/designer they were picking from was in their budgets.

That's actually the catch. It's normal for BMs to pay for their own dresses, so long as it's within the agreed upon budget. Did you ask each of your BMs how much they could comfortably spend before you made them get a specific dress? If not, she may be upset that she had to buy a more expensive dress than she wanted to, not that she had to buy a BM dress.

Regardless of whether you did everything right or not, or whether she's the one being unreasonable or not, it's clear your BM has some logistical, financial issues with attending your wedding this weekend. I'd let her know you're there for her and try to figure out a way to help get her to your wedding if you want her there.

I paid half of one and all of the other.... I dont know if I'm making her pay the portion she is. I asked and it was understood she'd need to buy a dress....

Everyone is paying for their own attire, I offered to pay for hair and makeup to ease the financial burden (not making them do their hair or makeup in any particular way, though) but they all said "it's part of being a BM" so they are paying for that on their own too.

My BMs will be purchasing their own. I will be buying their shoes and jewlery, though!

I didn't make them...it was sort of assumed they pay for their own. I was just mindful of everyone's budget.

Mine bought their own but I didn't require a specific dress only color but I am paying for hair and makeup.

My MOH's are both paying for their dresses but I made sure that the dress was in both of their budgets before I chose what I wanted. If you want your girls to pay for their own ask them about their budgets and stick within that range, if you want something completely out of their budgets I would pay for them myself.

My bridesmaids paid for their own. Every time I've been a bridesmaid I've paid for my own dress as well.

Mine are so lucky that I've selected them to stand near me on the day that they feel honored to be made to buy the dress selected by me...

All of mine paid for their own except one on my side and one on his side (financial hardship) so we picked up the tab on theirs. Otherwise, they picked out and paid for their own dresses. I'm paying for hair and makeup for the ones that want it done.
