Who decorated your wedding?

Blair, on October 10, 2019 at 6:21 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 18
I found a decorator who is charging me $3,300 which is a deal compared to the other ladies who were asking for $7, 000. Is this normal? I wouldn’t even know where to start If I did it myself

Hey girl! My decorator is costing us about $3,700! I've seen her work and she does a wonderful job. Most other places I checked were around $4,000-$5,000. So to me it doesn't sound too far off!

So I'm actually curious now. Who do you look up solely for decorating? Because I was looking into a partial planner who would decorate and also include a D.O.C. but I'm afraid it might be a bit much. The biggest thing I know we'll need is a decorator! Is it the same thing or something different that you're looking into? HELP! Smiley xd

I have an actual event decorator because my aunt is my DOC but for a wedding planner who will do decorating and everything would require her to be your full time planner. The wedding planner I spoke with said her DOC package included helping to decorate if needed but not fully decorating like how I want it to be done

We lucked out in terms of this! Our caterer comes with a DOC and our venue offers an “assistant” for the day of for $500 to help with setup and decorations.
We have a really beautiful barn venue that already has twinkle lights strung up so I don’t have much in terms of decorating. Just some greenery and the centerpieces.

We didn’t hire a decorator. We’re deciding on all of the decor ourselves and our DOC will setup and tear down.

I have a wedding planner and she does everything for $1200 and she is awesome. I think pricing depends on the area you are in as well

I selected, paid for, and created my decorations.

The DoC’s Assistants decorated the venue.

Almost every planning company I've looked up also offer partial planning. Even with that though it's like they still do vendor stuff like finalizing things with vendors and such. I literally just need a decorator and D.O.C but I'm just not sure where to find one outside of an actual planner.

Yes. Definitely depends on location. Ours is in California so I'm expecting somewhat of high numbers but I just wasn't sure if there was anyone I can look into outside of an actual planner.

We bought all our decor, and our day of coordinator set it up. Our florist set up all the flowers, bakers set up all the desserts, and the caterers set up chairs & tables & linens & china (which we rented from them).

That was my original plan to buy all my decoration, but everyone suggested I find a decorator and since they agreed to help pay I went along with their suggestion.

I had help from my sister mom and cousin but there's still so much to do and so much to buy. and if i can't sell it after then i'm stuck with it and nowhere to put it lol i work two jobs and we have kids so i'm pretty busy. I'm actually going to look in to someone for the rest of my decorations. Enjoy your planning process!!!!

I did the centerpieces myself but we hired a day of coordinator to actually place my decor.
