Who decides on bridesmaids dresses?

I picked their dresses and colors, but I took two bridesmaids that were completely different shapes to make sure that it looked alright on them.

I like the uniform dress.

I told the girls the colour (clover), length (knee) and that it had to be from Alfred Angelo. From there, they could choose the style and fabric. They ended up choosing a very similar style, so it worked. Picture below.

For SIL's wedding where I was the only bridesmaid, her and I went to David's Bridal and we looked at a bunch of dresses. Choose a few both of us liked. Tried them on, choose the first one.

The bride in the end has the veto power!

i asked my girls their budget and what styles they may like but iin the end im making the decision its your day but b considerate too because they do have to wear it

im letting them do their own hair and jewelry and shoes so they can each still have their own unique style

I told mine what color dress and shoes to have and what length and let them go to the store and pick out the rest. I am giving them free reign on jewelry and hair style but am paying for their nails since I want all of ours to match. All of my girls are different heights, sizes and style personalities so wanted them to pick something they are comforable in.

I had 2 styles picked out for my bridesmaids and they ended up all going with the same one...except for the MOH that chose a different one.

If I could do it all over again though, I'd have just let them choose whatever style in the color I designated to avoid uncomfortable whispers.....:-) I kept telling them that there were a million styles at the bridal shop and even told them that if they wanted, we could try other styles and they said they were cool and that it was my wedding so I should choose...comes to find out they weren't. :-\
