Who deals with the trash at a DIY venue?

Hey all!

I'm pretty new to weddingwire. I'm getting married this July and cannot wait.

We've run into a problem regarding garbage removal.

The venue we are using is very barebones and doesn't provide anything which is totally fine and what we knew going in. However, the venue says in their contract that they do not deal with the removal of trash. I checked with our caterer and they said they've never dealt with trash before - it's the venue's responsibility. I asked the venue how other renters have dealt with this in the past when the caterer doesn't deal with trash removal and the venue said they've never encountered that before. I even asked the caterer if they'd deal with trash for an additional fee and they have no interest.

So, what does one do in this situation? Has anyone encountered something similar? Help!

    Hmmmm I would imagine that others had a clean up crew they hired that took care of it?

    We did. We brought garbage bags and had some trash stations set up. I don't think we actually had a lot of trash, but I wasn't there for a lot of the clean up. I can ask my mom about it next time I talk to her if you want?

    My FBIL got married at a blueberry farm last summer, and we had to gather all the trash and put it in our cars to take to the dump. Sounds like you are in the same boat.

    What kind of trash are you expecting? I'm just thinking that the caterer would be bussing tables during/immediately after dinner as they need their plate ware/service stuff back. Could you hire an extra bartender/work it into their contract that they bus tables for glassware/bottles during the night?
