Who brings Tupperware to a wedding??

Fmv, on May 21, 2019 at 9:11 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13
So a co worker told me she saw an article in a paper awhile back that a bride had wrote in and also posted on a facebook group called "thats it, im wedding shaming"

Soo apprently at the brides wedding, during the buffet a wedding guest had a bag full of 10 tupperware containers, and filled them with food!!
Is this a thing?
Thoughts? To me it sounds super rude

I would have been livid. We had a buffet. My husband and I barely ate because of all the excitement. I was so glad there was some leftover we could take home and enjoy the next day. I would’ve been pretty angry if we weren’t able to do that because a guest took leftovers home in Tupperware 😡

I've definitely been to weddings where friends have offered leftovers to several people. (Like an omg, we have way too much food. Please take some.)
But it's definitely rude to take Tupperware, or take leftovers without being offered them.

I don't think that's a normal thing. I did see the news article but I've never seen people do that or heard stories from people about stuff like that. That's crazy! LOL

If this is the same one I read, she wasn't even supposed to be a guest! Her dad called and asked if he could bring his daughter, I think in place of his wife!

This sounds like something my one Aunt would do - but only if there was food going to waste.

If everyone contributed to the buffet spread and there was a load of food left over then I don't see why not. OR you knew you would be getting some slices of cake and wanted to take it home.

10 tupperware is a little excessive.

This is so rude yet so hilarious that anyone would ever think this is ok to do at a wedding! I’m also looking up that FB group so I’ve got something to make me laugh when the planning gets too stressful lol

This is oddly enough one of my weird reasons for not wanting to do a buffet at any party we plan lol. Smiley xd Smiley laugh I have heard of brides telling people to please take food home (hey, we did it with our dessert table!) since it's paid for, why throw it away?! But for a guest to show up assuming they're going to take home a week's worth of dinner? Come on Aunt Judy! What's next - going to steal the silverware too?!

I saw this article too! Its BEYOND tacky. It's one thing if you stick around to help with cleanup and want to take a few leftovers home but if you literally show up to the wedding with tupperware in hand, I would go as far to call those people cheap and trashy. My family would NOT have allowed that to happen at my wedding thank GOODNESS!! My mom and my aunts would've been on this lady like stink on poo! LOL!

Heck no! Wedding food is wayyyy to expensive! If they werent invited to the wedding they dont get food MAYBE cupcake/cakes UNLESS its the end of the wedding and it was said that it was okay

So tacky 😂😂 that’s something I did in college to stock up from the dining hall when I was low on meal swipes for the week, but never at a wedding or any other type of party/gathering 😂 (except maybe at my parents house lol)
