Like PPs have said, True white, Ivory, champagne - all shades of white. No correlation to purity/virginity. There are hundreds of translations and interpretations, best not to nitpick.

I completely understand where you are coming from, although I don't believe wearing white would be a sin, or disobeying. Its your day. I'm not the most religious person but God will bless you either way as you are his child. I have friends who have felt this way. One worse a red dress, the other wore white anyways. As long as you are true to yourself, and your beliefs- God has forgiven way worse than wearing a white dress on your wedding day. The bible was written long ago, things change and evolve, its the 21st century, wear whatever you feel is right! Let him guide you!

I’m a believer who reads the Bible everyday and there is for sure not a verse that states or even implies that white wedding dresses are associated with purity. The biggest stretch I can imagine is connecting Jesus, who is referred to as “the light” and God and angels blinding people with their brightness...but that’s to do with holiness not purity and is never connected to women’s attire, much less wedding gowns.

That verse from Revelation refers to believers (all, men and women) and their symbolic marriage to God. It clearly has nothing to do with the earthly marriage of two people. Major, major stretch.

White: White is associated with light, goodness, innocence, purity, and virginity. It is considered to be the color of perfection. This color of choice for the traditional bride is and will always a staple in bridal fashion.
