White, or Off White?!!?!

I'm wearing ivory, but only because white washes me out and I would look like a ghost. People don't really adhere to the white rule anymore.

I think either color is perfectly fine!!! White does not have to mean virgin....let's face it..most of us have experienced that before marriage...go with what you want! it's your wedding!

Wear whatever you feel most beautiful in. My dress is ivory but you would never know it because it is VERY close to being white. When you start looking at dresses don't do it by color, just go by what looks good. In the end you will end up with the perfect dress :-).

Either color is fine! i personally love ivory, as i think it is more elegant. but yes, both are great!

I think you should wear what ever you feel best in. I really wanted to wear a bright white dress because our colors are black, white, and red and I thought ivory just wouldn't go, but I fell in love with an ivory dress. I don't really think anyone cares about the whole white dress = purity anymore anyway.

Well, I'm 35... married before to ex for 10yrs... divorced and not marrying the love of my life (that I missed the first time). I'm wearing white. I chose white because my color is a shade darker than red and thought it'd "pop" more.

Wear what you want and throw that old myth out the window.

I have the same complaint....im stuck between a ivory lace dress an white dress. My wunt who is super traditional said for me to wear the white dress with a color sash...since im not a virgin.

Yeah its your day - wear what you like. This is my 2nd wedding and his 3rd and we both are wearing white.

Wear the color that the dress looks best in..I also have 2 kids and will be getting married for the first time next year..I thought i was going to wear white and I tried on a dress that looked better in ivory because the detailing dazzled more in the ivory.. but if it would've looked better in white best belive I would be walking down in the purest whitest dress! lol

Wear what you want, just be advised that you should try on a white dress, sometimes white just doesn't look that good on people...like me!

Some people look better in white and some people look better in ivory. And you can always accessorize with color (jewelry, flowers, sash).

Im am wearing white, and gonna be proud of it....We have three kids together, my colors are red, black, and white. So go with what you feel, cause it is you and FH day!! Enjoy Shopping!!

White is the color of the bride. It doesn't hold the same meaning anymore.

You can wear white! LOL. I wish I could....it does not look nice against my skin. I'm wearing ivory.

We have 4 kids and I think FH would be "mad" if I wore Ivory.. LOL. He really likes white. When he buys clothes for me it is ALWAYS white & I am always saying.."Hello, we have 4 kids, I put it on white and it comes off grey." LOL. So white for the WD it is! Heehee

Whatever looks best with your skin tone! No one puts much stock in the white/off white as a sign of purity these days.

@Heidi- oh man, if FH could pick out my dress, I, would be wearing a pink wedding dress! your FH sounds like mine when it comes to clothes. Lol...tooo funny! I decided already, I'm going to wear white... i like how it looks on my skin! Oh, for sure I will post pics! Thanks!!
