Which wedding vendors to tip?

Samantha, on May 23, 2021 at 9:12 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 2 2
Hey all! I was wondering if anyone can give me advice on which vendors to tip. All or only the ones I feel went above and beyond? We have a venue coordinator, dj, photographer, videographer (who I wont meet in person until the day of), florist (only dropping off bouquets), cake baker, hair and makeup stylists. As you all know weddings are expensive and we are just wondering how much extra cash we need for tips. Also is 20% standard or say the venue coordinator just gets 50 or 100? I'm clueless! Thanks in advance.

Only tip those who go above and beyond the call of duty. But you wait until after the wedding is over (after your honeymoon if you go on one) when you are not on cloud 9 and able to assess all services and vendors objectively. Do not tip anyone who gave bad service, who was a no-show or simply showed up to do their job.

Servers and bartenders are paid hourly by their employers. The catering company is tipped automatically as a mandatory gratuity. The average percentage is 20% but you will be fine if $100-200 is all you can afford.
You deliver the tips in person afterward (never on the day of) to the stellar vendors, and make sure to give honest reviews on all platforms (theknot.com, Google Maps, Yelp, etc) for all your vendors, good and bad.
