Which wedding band would match with this ring (twisted shank)????

Elite, on November 8, 2017 at 8:48 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 20

I lovvvveeeee this ring and intend to get it in a 0.4 ct diamond center (might upgrade later). I have looked everywhere and I have not found anything else exactly like it. So, this is the one. However, I am having a very hard time finding a wedding band that would match with it. I don’t mind a small gap but I don’t want the gap too big. If possible, I would like the engagement ring to sit right on the band. Any suggestions? What do you think about the ring? What mm band would best match with this ring

Does it come as part of a set? They may have a band that matches the ring and will sit against it, but it may be a curved band and not one that you could necessarily wear alone. In the end, you are going to have to try on bands with it to see how they sit against it.

I think you should try the ring on and make sure you can get it how you want it with the center stone (4 diamonds instead of one) before you decide. I tried on a ton of different ring styles when FH and I were shopping and I was so glad I did, i didn't like what I had originally said I wanted.

If you want the wedding band to sit right next to the wedding band and the designer or company you are buying from doesn't have one, I would think with a ring like that you would have to get it custom made.

    ETA- clarification

I also have an e-ring with lots of twists in it. I did spend a lot of time trying on stock bands that were straight, curved, twisted/braided and it just made me want to have a custom band made that would fit right up against the side.

I have pretty much the same ring. I went with a thin (I think it's 4mm) white gold band. When I'm wearing them, they sit pretty flush together; the only gap is at the twist of the shank, as it the thinnest point of the ring. This picture makes it look like there's a huge gap, but there really isn't.

Unless it comes as a set you will need a custom band if you want it completely flush. If you are ok with a gap, you just need to go try on different styles to see what you like.

I really love BlueHenBride's band! It looks good on it's own and isn't dependent on the engagement ring. Some symbolism that the marriage is more important than the engagement? (Also, she's wearing it closest to her heart.)

HowCo - thank you! There really wasn't any symbolism when we designed the band. I did know that I wanted to be able to have the option to wear my band separately, but our priority was actually getting a band that had no gaps. I really wasn't sure whether it would work out that the band would look good on it's own. I was very pleased that it does, and that it has a scalloped look. The neckline and hemline on my wedding dress was scalloped, too.

Thanks yall. I don't believe that it comes with a matching ring as I have looked for it on that site and other places. @ Bluehen Beautiful ring combo...Very unique with a delicate look...Love it love it love it Smiley smile @Zaz I do think that it is either the same ring or similar and I love it even more now that I have seen yours. So, you're saying that the band does not have a big gap? If not, then thats something that I would not mind having.....and if you do not mind, what ct is the center stone?

@Tracey - I'm actually not certain what carat the center stone is; I've never asked.

My photographer wanted to show off both bands in the picture, which is why the gap looks so big. When I'm wearing them together, the bands sit flush against each other, with the only gap being the curve in the shank. My advice would be to try on a few of the straight bands next to your ring to see if you like the way it looks.

I have the same style. Mine came as a set. I bought the band for each side... (sorry the pictures are hard to see... my phone does not do well with sparkly things clearly.)

Many bands could match but beyond a set I would recommend a custom band like PP.

They aren't as expensive as people think they are.

I have slightly the same ring. Mine has a band that was made just for it, have you checked to see if this one does? If not you may have to custom make it to fit exact

Two Birch has a lot of curved bands and wraps that would go with that ring. (It's absolutely stunning by the way)

I'd recommend Two Birch for a contour band. If you find one in a local jewelry store that fits, try to find it on DazzlingRock.com. They have great quality for a fraction of the cost.

I spoke with a jeweler about bands for my ring and she said that if we didn't get it as a set at the same time, it would be basically impossible to get one that fits in it perfectly even if it's curved similarly and from the same place. She suggested doing a custom band where they'll make a mold of my ring and make the band to fit perfectly with it, so that's what I'll be doing because I know it'll bug me to not have the curves matching

Tracey - the cost of a custom band will vary depending on where you are having it made, what type of metal, and whether or not you ask for diamonds, gemstones, or any other kind of detailing. Number of stones also will hike the cost up.

We went with the local jeweler that worked on my e-ring, but we did ask around at other jewelry stores about the cost of making a custom band. Our observation was that the local jeweler was significantly less expensive than chain jewelers. My band is 14k white gold with diamonds across the top and sides (I didn't want them to go all the way around). It was around $800.

@ Future Ms Coleman...Thanks. I will check those websites out....@Bluehenbride, thats not that bad at all for a custom made ring. I'll give it some thought. I found a similar ring that comes as a set from another store. I just checking its credibility right now.
