Which vendors do I feed?

Erin Wood, on June 13, 2017 at 2:10 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 31

I've got 2 photographers, DJ, photo booth attendant, and videographer.

EDIT- when I said "I've got" I meant I've got them on my list to feed.

Am I missing anyone?

All that you mentioned along with the DOC and officiant if they're attending the reception also. Oh and I think the bartenders too, I could be wrong on that one though.

What do their contracts say?? I fed my 2 photographers both lunch and dinner, and my HMUA people lunch. all my other vendors were hired through our venue and meals were a part of their contracts-the venue fed them, and I'm sure I paid for it hidden in those huge service fees...but if you aren't sure, ask.

I would read your contracts because that usually is listed. It is in mine at least. I would think all of those.

I'm feeding all of mine. I'm thinking of setting up a table in the corner for them so they can get out of the middle of everything and rest for a little bit.

If you are getting ready during lunch time you may have to provide a meal to your HMUA if they are doing you offsite.

As others said, read your contract. My photographers require a meal after 6 hours of working. DJ doesn't require one but we're providing it because he'll be at the reception all night and our venue only charges $10/vendor meal.

My photog was so funny. "Don't worry, I won't eat your reception food! I will go in the corner and eat snacks I brought!" Me: "Ummm, no. You are going to be with us a huge portion of the day. You will eat!!"

Any vendor that is there through dinner will have a meal (they even have some options to choose from with our venue which is nice), and I will be catering sandwiches - likely jimmy johns or subway, for a lunchtime bite for all VIPs and vendors there during meal time.

Erin, that looks right to me - my list is photographers, video booth attendant, DJ.

Our catering/bar are in-house so they are taken care of. And usually if your officiant is attending your reception, it's as a guest - so they'd get a regular meal.

(I have no idea about a DOC but I'd assume you would need to feed them. Ours is through the venue so it's taken care of.)

@ APZ- good point!! I'll contact my venue to see if I need to feed their people. I wouldn't think so though.

My officiant is a friend so he'll definitely be at the wedding and fed. Lol! Bartenders work for the venue as does the DOC so I'll have to check on that. MUA and hair is being done in the room so I'll have lunch for everyone in there. They will be done by 1:00 so no dinner needed. Thanks guys!

You feed all of them. I have to feed my DJ, Videographer, and Photographer plus their assistants. So, a total of six.

We only have our photo booth from 8-10 so we aren't feeding the attendant. Think it depends on the time for that one!

If you have a DOC or planner, you feed them as well...

Unless it's in their contracts, I don't plan on feeding anyone working less than 5 hours.

If they're there for the entirety of the wedding, then I would feed them. So probably all of those you mentioned. I'm not sure about wedding planners/DOC's if you have any.
