which date do you consider your "anniversary"

Me and FH were talking about this last night. Right now we have the date we became an official couple 4/11/11, the date we got engaged 4/8/12, and then next year we will add our wedding 3/30/14. We were joking that we should find the middle date and just do everything on that day. I was curious as to which date people celebrate things on. Ours are so close it's hard to do something each day lol. I almost think it should be the day we became official but the date we got engaged was a special day too! I know when we get married we'll just do it on that day.

Yep I think we'll just use the wedding date after that happens, I think I'll be happy if he remembers that once a year rather than 3 or 4 different dates lol

We considered our dating anniversary December 21st. It was the first day we met in person (after being good friends online for 2 years and living 300 miles away from each other). Our first date was really a whole weekend of activities. But we counted that first day as our anniversary. We never did gifts or anything, but we always went out to a nice dinner on that day.

I was a little sad not celebrating it this past year, and I don't think we will ever really "celebrate" it again. It will always be a special day to me though.

We are slowly approaching our 1 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been a year already!

As for the day we got engaged, we got engaged on my birthday so that day will always be celebrated Smiley tongue

6/25/10 is when we became an official couple, 2/14/11 is when we got engaged and 6/29/13 will be a wedding anniversary. 6/25 and 2/14 will be dropped once we get married. But as of right now we celebrate any special dates that come by!

We still celebrate the anniversary of our first date, 5/24. It's the only significant one we have so far.

My FH thought about this ahead of time. he proposed on the same date we became a couple. When deciding what date to get married he insisted we keep the same date. So here we are, August 28th. haha. But I was thinking that we would always just celebrate our wedding date. He had other plans obviously. haha

We started dating 11/19/2011 so we celebrated that but we won't have another before we're married.

And TODAY (4/8) marks one year being engaged, we're just watching movies together so nothing huge but we always mention special dates at least.

Our wedding anniversary will definitely override anything else.

We don't celebrate any of these, but every time I see fireworks I remember his proposal...a complete surprise on New Years Eve during the fireworks in Las Vegas... I still smile every time I see fireworks.

Once married we will just celebrate our wedding date .

We kinda just eased into things. We weren't together, and than we were. There was no "official" date or a first date in the traditional sense. We hung out and than somehow the hanging out got romantic undertones, and than we were together. There wasn't any talking about it or officially asking("will you go out with me" or "will you be my girlfriend") so it's a little hard to pinpoint one specific day. We just kinda had an unspoken understanding that we were going to be together. The only anniversary we have is our wedding anniversary.

Right now, we count the day we starting dating as our anniversary. We do still celebrate our engagement anniversary (we're having a LONG engagement), but whereas the dating anniversary is usually celebrated with gifts and a nice date, we just go out for dinner or something for the engagement anniversary.

Once we're married, I think the dating anniversary will also be just a go out for dinner sort of occasion. Our dating anniversary is close to both our birthdays and Christmas, so by the time we get to that, we're nearly broke from gifts and out of ideas for gifts, so we just get each other something small. But our wedding anniversary will be in July, so it will give us something to celebrate during the less busy part of the year. Smiley smile

We will celebrate our wedding day as our anniversary. that is the most important day of our lives. our 1st date, we always be the how long we known each other. If we weren't getting married, then I would of course have that date as an anniversary date. But our wedding day, knock that date right out of the box, lol

Our wedding date will be our anniversary from now on, but before we used to celebrate on October 15, 2009, the day of our first date because we have been together ever since

For now we use our "official" boyfriend/girlfriend date... keeping in mind the engagement date, but after the wedding we'll just use that date i think

Right now we celebrate April 27, which is the day we became an official couple. After the wedding, we will have a small date on that day and then celebrate the anniversary on April 19.

We celebrate on the day we became an official couple. After the wedding, that will be our anniversary that we celebrate.

As far as the engagement anniversary, I doubt we will do anything for that other than saying, "Wow, it's already been a year since we got engaged!" Smiley smile
