Finding the right color scheme for your wedding is always a challenge! In addition to choosing the perfect color palette for your decor, you need to make sure the bridesmaids don’t clash with the bouquets or blend into the tablecloths! When it came down to choosing your colors, did you start with your wedding party’s attire and then build the rest of your palette? Or did you pick your wedding colors first and then decide which hue your bridesmaids would wear?

Which color choice came first for you - your wedding colors or the bridesmaids dresses?

Colours ofc. You can't make a proper decision on the dresses until you know what your theme and colours will be.

Bridesmaid dresses !!! I chose the champagne color but once I saw it on the fairer skinned girls I quickly changed my mind because they looked washed out. Decided to go with a pewter !!

Wedding colors. Black, gold, with tones of white and blush. I had a blush dress, after I got my dress and he got his suit the bridesmaids and groomsmen attire came last for us.

I’m so happy I made all of the girls try it on before just ordering! The pewter was the neutral color I wanted but also complimented all different skin tones. My bridesmaids offered to get spray tans but I didnt want anyone to be forced into doing something that they dont normally do

Colors. I wanted to use one of my grandfather's family tartans - the one that includes both of our favorite colors because it was always "our" tartan. So they are purple (my favorite color), green (my Papa's favorite color) and blue. It works out that my fiancee's family tartan is the same purple with a golden yellow and black/navy accents so the purple is our main color and we are using pieces of each tartan in the decor. (Plus their dad is wearing his kilt!). I just gave my girls paint chips of the 3 colors in the tartan and a couple guidelines (length, sleeve length, formality) and they can pick whatever dress they want. And we are giving my fiancee's squad the purple paint chips and similar guidelines with the addition of "or a suit" where I wrote just dress in mine. But my fiancee is non-binary and some of their squad is as well or at least does not feel comfortable in dresses but would totally rock a fitted suit.

I chose theme and then colors. We are still working on exact dresses, but we pretty much know what we are going for. I'm letting them choose their own, within certain stipulations.

We've had part of our wedding colors picked for years now lol! We added the color Navy once we got engaged. Then we found a bridesmaid dress that fit in the color scheme.

My fiancé and I picked out our colors (burgundy, navy, and gray) first. We are letting the bridesmaids pick out their own wedding dress style, as long as they are burgundy and floor length!

Picked colors first (Navy, gold, and ivory with ivory/blush/greenery for flowers) knowing the bridesmaids all have a complexion that works well with navy blue... I'm going to pick about 7-8 dresses from the same company for the 5 girls to choose from so they get their choice but they'll all be from the same dye lot!

Neither. I’m not doing the wedding colors or theme. We are getting married in an art gallery which is themed enough. We decided not to have a bridal party. I could never choose between my friends.
