Where Was Your First Date?

How sweet, hope you had the best time on your honeymoon. We went for dinner and ice cream. Every year on our anniversary we recreate that date. Always fun!

I love that you recreate your first date on your anniversary every year! Such a fun tradition! Do you always go to the same restaurant for dinner? Or do you mix it up each year?

My FH and I had been friends for 5 years at the time we started dating. So our first date was a weekend trip to Kansas City. We went to dinner and then to Power & Light District for live music and dancing and drinks. The next day we went to World's of Fun & Oceans of fun amusement & water park. It was a great weekend and a great way to take our friendship to something more.

When my FW asked me out, I was a couple weeks out from my thesis deadline... so obviously I was going insane, lol. Instead of going out, we kept it lowkey and cooked together at my apartment. The lasagna we made is now out go-to for a romantic dinner at home. It's my favorite food (-:

We went to a local beer festival on our first date. It was outdoors in mid-January so we were bundled up but we had a blast! Then, we went to my place and cooked dinner together. It is an annual event for us now. COVID threw a wrench in our plans this past year but we are planning to go again this coming January!

Awesome that your first date was at a restaurant that neither of you had been to before! Trying new things together is always fun. Do you ever go back to that restaurant?

We were 19 so we went to this small local fair we have in our town every summer. Went on some fun rides etc. Had our first kiss right before the fireworks started! We’d actually been really good friends up until that point for 4 years so I felt extra nervous to not mess it up lol cause I knew the dude! Not as easy to just ghost him 😂

We met on hinge (so romantic! Haha) and our first date and first time we met was going out for coffee one evening. The next week we went to a restaurant downtown and I was so nervous that I forgot which parking garage I had parked in. After dinner he walked me around looking for it for about 45 minutes until we decided it was too cold so he drove me around for another hour until we finally found it. AND he had the fly out for a 3-week work trip to Germany the next morning and wasn’t even packed yet.
He still likes to give me crap about it 😂 Thankful he stuck around after all that! Oh, also now I pin my parking location 😅

I hope your honeymoon was amazing! For our first date, my FH and I actually went on a double date with my cousin and her husband to a bowling alley. We’ve went to the same bowling alley on the anniversary of our first date since then and plan to continue. We even took our wedding party out for an afternoon of bowling at the same place to thank them for agreeing to stand by our side on our wedding day.

Bowling is such a fun idea for a first date!! And I love that you incorporate that into your yearly traditions. Do you and your fiance bowl in leagues? Or just for fun?
