Where to try on my wedding dress?

Erin, on September 10, 2019 at 2:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

I bought a dress online but since I didn't go through a boutique, I have no where to try it on. My mom has dogs, I have cats, my dad has a dog, etc. I don't want to try on my dress somewhere with pee and hair everywhere. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Where did you go to try it on?

I would say to shut the cats in a room and just vacuum/sweep another room to try your dress on, but I'm guessing it's not that simple of a fix if it's already a big issue..

I suppose you could go to a bridal salon that does alterations and ask them to quote you for alterations so you can try it on. Then tell them thank you and that you'll reach back out to them once it's time to do them (whether you decide to go with them or not).

Do you live near a close friend or relative that doesn't have animals? Maybe you can take your dress to their house, lay down a white sheet in their bedroom or living room and try on your dress.

I have one small dog but she does shed a lot. My mom had me try on my dress in her room after vacuuming and laying down a sheet.

Yeah, the hair is pretty much ingrained in every fiber of our lives at this point, haha. I don't think all the vacuuming in the world would get rid of every hair. And the train is quite long and extravagant so I'm worried it'll weave its way in. But I love the boutique idea! I wasn't sure if they'd allow it, even if I did decide to work with them for alterations. Thank you!

I have a dog and I don't have pee and hair everywhere...well, at least not pee 🤔😂.

Just clean and designate a room to try it on before trying it on. That should work. If you need alterations, perhaps they have storage options on site.

Could you maybe go to a friend's house to try it on?

I tried mine at my MOH house she has 3 cats and a dog. I brought a King sized sheet to stand on to avoid any hair.
