Where To Sell Unworn/unaltered Wedding Dress?

What would a consignment shop give you for it? I'm not sure how it works or what their cut is but some money back is better than none. What needed to be altered on the dress/why so expensive?? I'm waiting for mine to come in and stressing about the cost of alterations
