Where do you hide your dress?

Are you keeping your dress out of sight until the wedding? Did you find a clever place to keep it, or is this not an issue for you?

That's sort of the opposite to other brides. Can you do ground delivery of the dress to the hotel? Or is someone going to get to Vegas by car?

That's what I think, in case he gets curious. But its not like being seen wearing the dress.

That is an option, but the fear of the dress getting lost in transit has me not wanting to risk it 😬 I think someone might be driving from WA to NV, but I was told I can bring the dress with me on the plane and have it be one of my carry-on's. Which I just might do, tbh 😅

My dress was in a garment bag at my parents house. It hung on the back of a door in their hall for months and I don't think he ever noticed. We go to their house for dinner about once a week or every-other week.

I have a walk in closet I keep my dress in and its inside of garment bag. I kind of just hope he don't sneak and look but he's so busy doing other things I doubt hes focusing on it. Maybe keep your dress at a parents house.

It’s in a bag in a closet. Not many options for me - but my dress isn’t very fluffy or big.

Sure. He would not be looking around too much at one's parents' house. Or maybe some guys would.

One person suggested the MOH's place if she is trustworthy and careful with these things.

I was just seeing if people were being careful or even sneaky about their dresses. Many brides don't even see a problem.

Not nervous Fiancé will look at it. But I AM nervous something bad would happen to it.
(Anyone else having WEIRD dreams about everything? LOL. I've had a recurring dream for two years now I dropped my gown in a toilet.??? Started having that one before I even had a dang gown! WTH. LOL)

Anyways, when my gown first arrived at the bridal shoppe, and after I had the Accessories/ Try on appointment, I opted to keep it at the Bridal Shoppe until the day before I was to head to the Seamstress. (Didn't even care the trip to the Bridal shoppe is 50 minutes away, nope. Safer there.)

It is currently at the Seamstress. I have one more appointment scheduled. (Final Appt the end of May and can take it home at that appointment)- However, they are going to hold my gown there for me until the week I leave for my destination wedding. I asked, they obliged.

Ya know.... no toilets and all.

When I have the gown in my possession for travel and also for the 3 days before the wedding, it will be bagged in five layers. in different directions. As for the fiancé maybe taking a peek or getting curious...five layers will be too much finagle for him. LOL.

It's funny, most fiancés won't peek, don't want to even- but I HAVE had some girlfriends whose fiancés' have gotten too curious and snuck the peeks! Getting caught by the brides too! (During or after- they noticed the bag different or the gown itself on the hanger!)

Funny. Like kids in the candy store.

Lara, how crazy. So some of the fiancés have looked. So it can be useful to keep the dress out of reach. I hope also you don't have more of those dreams. haha

It's best to keep the dress with you. I have heard too many unhappy stories of important outfits being lost in luggage. For many years, I was in a women's chorus that was in competitions all over the country. We all wore the exact same costume so an alternate outfit was not possible. When we traveled, especially by plane, we kept all our competition outfits, including shoes, jewelry and makeup, with us in a carry-on. One must be careful with a car too - one chorus had 3 women drive together to a competition. Their car was either unlocked or broken into and their costumes stolen (they aren't worth anything except to the singers!) They arranged to have fabric and other materials, a seamstress and a sewing machine driven down and with 2 days to contest, they had 3 brand new outfits made! When my husband and I attended our son's wedding, 800 miles away, we flew down but our wedding day outfits, as well as other necessities like toiletries, meds, etc. were in our carry on luggage. (I always travel this way, with a change of clothes, undies and shoes in a carry on). If I check luggage, only the extra clothes go in the suitcase. So keep your bridal outfit, including shoes, makeup, jewelry and undies with you at all times. Good luck!

Michael! It's kind of cute (and funny) that some fiancé's had to sneak a peek, the "orneriness" of it, but the anticipation for them as well......Yes though. Stash it, Hide it. Somewhere. LOL!

Fingers remain crossed on the ending of the toilet dreams.... If it actually happens, someone just remind me to start playing the lottery. Smiley smile

It is probably not best to look at other bride's dreams before the wedding but some are here:

Mom's place is the most popular. You have a whole year before you even have to think about alterations. We're six months away.

I have kept mine in a luggage in the bedroom. He never knew when i brought it home until i mentioned it to a friend. Luckily, he s not the snoopy type and since he knows he s not supposed to see it until d-day, he doesn't bother looking for it.
