Where are my December '21 brides at?! Check in - how far are you with planning?

Tori, on February 27, 2021 at 11:56 AM Posted in Planning 2 12

I'm getting married on Friday, December 17th of this year! I'm so excited for our cozy Christmas wedding. So far, we've booked our venue, photographer, caterer, bartending service, and floral design. We are DIYing music/entertainment and our cake/desserts....and pretty much everything else! We're going for a rustic, elegant Christmas vibe. Our colors are mulberry, champagne, forest green and gold. We're having a lot of velvet and vintage accents as well as some more rustic elements like wooden slabs, deer antlers, antique window panes, etc.

I ordered a custom designed wedding dress on Etsy, so I'm still waiting for that (fingers crossed)!

We've informally asked our I Do crew to be part of our big day, but I still haven't delivered the proposal boxes I made for my bridesmaids. I've pretty much settled on the color of their dresses and where we'll buy them, but that's as far as I've gotten.

I ordered our Save the Dates, but they haven't arrived yet. I requested quotes for hotel blocks using the tool here on WW, haven't had much luck yet. Each time I call a hotel they say the sales manager isn't in and to call back a different day!

Haven't started any of my DIY projects except for the stationary, which is coming along pretty nicely...I have rough draft mock ups of our invitation suite done.

What about you, my lovely December '21 brides? What are your colors? Are you doing a Christmas theme (like me) or keeping it classy with a winter theme? Or forgoing the sentiments of the season totally? I'd love to hear!

Thank you, Michelle! It's so nice to come here and be able to talk about my wedding without having to stress about people getting tired of hearing me talk about it all the time! Smiley tongue

You’ve done a lot all ready that’s great! Our date is December 3 and so far we have booked venue, catering, open bar, decor, Dj and I’ve found my dress. Meeting with a photographer next week and we already took engagement photos and about to send out save the dates. We will most likely get our cake from Publix. Our theme is winter wonderland so colors are white and silver and the bridesmaids are wearing velvet burgundy dresses. I’m so excited and nervous for our wedding. I can’t wait.

We are December 28th 🥰 We aren’t doing anything holiday related. Since we are in Florida it’s easy to get around a winter theme. Our colors are dusty blue and accents of sage and darker blues. Your wedding sounds great and I’m glad I’m not the only one who is “far ahead” in planning lol.

Congratulations girl! Our's is December 18th and we still have a lot to plan! Since this is our postponed date, we actually already booked our venue, received my dress and the bridesmaids dresses, and have a DJ and food included in the venue. We still need to figure out flowers, cake/desserts, and need to order Save The Dates. Our colors are a dusty/steel blue and burgundy and love the idea of a winter wedding!

I LOVE the idea of a Winter Wonderland theme, and the burgundy velvet dresses have my heart! My mom is going to make our cake (if all goes well) but I wouldn't hesitate to get it from our local grocery store here in Texas, either!

You've made great progress with wedding planning! Do you have a wedding planner or are you doing everything yourself? (:

That's going to be absolutely gorgeous! And you don't have to worry about anyone not coming because your date isn't before Christmas! Those shades of blue are to die for. Especially the bridesmaids dresses. I live in South Texas, so we might be taking photos in fur stoles in 80 degree weather haha!

I'm trying to plan ahead so that we can have everything wrapped up before Thanksgiving. We have a 2 and 4 year old together and I really don't want the wedding planning to interfere with the magic of Christmas for them (:

Woohoo we're getting married the same weekend! The slate blue and burgundy was my second choice for our color palette! Your wedding is gonna be stunning. It's nice that you don't have to worry about hunting down a caterer or DJ. You still have some time on the flowers and the cake/desserts. Sounds like you are ROCKING the re-I-do!

My mom definitely doesn't "love" my whimsical Christmas theme, she wanted a winter wonderland vibe, but I live in southern Texas and it just didn't make sense to me. So, we're going all out with Christmas music, a jingle bell send off, a mistletoe photo-op, hot chocolate bar, and a few other fun details. Even if my mom doesn't totally love it, I hope my guests appreciate it (:

Thank you! No I don’t have a planner just doing everything on my own and my MOH has been helping a bit as well. I do have a day of coordinator which was included with the venue so that’s a relief. A homemade cake sounds good! If you get one from grocery store I suggest Publix. Their cakes are delicious and they’ve never disappointed me.

That's so nice that your MOH has been willing to help! And yes, the day of coordinator will be huge when the day comes. We're winging it, I hope it doesn't end it disaster LOL! If we had Publix over here in Texas I would check it out haha. They are only in the Southeast part of the United States to my understanding!

December 30th here! My wedding is in South Florida so it will be a garden wedding. I’ve chosen jewel tones. Ruby, cobalt blue, emerald green, gold, etc. Going for a tropical luxe feel. In my mind it makes sense. Hope it works out! I’m planning things on my own and all my vendors are booked. Working on my website now and preparing our Save the Dates.
