When to send save the dates!?

Morgan, on January 4, 2020 at 11:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
Our wedding is Nov. 14th 2020 in South Carolina and most of our guest will be coming from Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. When should we send out “save the dates”?

I was thinking April or May but I’m seeing a lot of people with Oct 2020 weddings already sending them out 😅

If most of your guests are traveling from out of state, I'd say a safe bet to send out STDs would be 8-9 months in advance, so February/March. You could probably get away with sending them out toward the end of this month, if you have them ready to go.

    Hey Morgan Smiley smile

According to this WeddingWire article (When to Send Save the Dates), for a destination wedding, couples should send their save the dates out eight to 12 months before the big day. If you’re planning a hometown wedding, four and eight months in advance is the best time frame.

As your wedding is a hometown wedding but you have a lot of guests coming from out of state that needs to make travel arrangements, somewhere in the middle would work. Let’s say seven to nine months out. So somewhere between Feb - April. Would that work for you?
