when to send out invites for cruise wedding

I sent out STDs in Feb. My MOH suggested sending out the invites end of May however my wedding isnt until 10/9. The biggest issue is have to have final numbers 30 days prior for the ship. I also have limited non-sailing guests and it would be better to know who is coming and who is sailing. When should I send out invites? when should I set the rsvp date?

Did your guests know that this is a cruise wedding when you sent the STD's? If not I would be letting them know ASAP

Well I would contact the VIPs personally and let them know because paying for a cruise could be expensive if it all has to be paid up front. The others who you're sure won't sail I would wait 2 months before. But if you're sure you would want them to sail let them know asap

I'd still probably give it a couple more months. Send them out sometime in July.

I created a fb group a year before to give plenty of time. I also had the wedding website where it has all the details

Hi Jamie! If the ship needs your final numbers 30 days in advance, then I'd make the RSVP deadline 1.5-2 weeks ahead of the ship's date so that you have time to follow up with anyone who didn't RSVP! (Puts you at the end of August / beginning of September). Guests are typically given about a month to reply, so I think mailing your invitations out sometime in July is great idea!
