when to have the Bridal shower for fall 2011 brides...

I think two months before the wedding is good. It gives you enough time to get out the thank you notes.

My wedding is in September 2011, and My MOH told me today that my shower will be July 17, exactly 2 months before my wedding

Mine will be a month before my wedding. Is that too late? My bridal party told me its traditional to do it 1,2 months before the wedding

The bridal shower can be held anywhere from 1 week to 3 months prior to the wedding. I was the MOH at my friend's wedding last month (my first time), we did the shower 1 week before the wedding, most other showers I've been to are usually about a month away, it's all up to you.

I might ask my MOH to do mine one month or probably the week before just so I can just take everything to our new appartment and I have a few friends coming from OOT for the wedding.

Mine is very early. The wedding is October 1st and the bridal shower is going to be at the end of May...Im from MI and most people are very busy June-Sept enjoying the small amount of warm weather that we get here, so I wanted to have mine before summer starts! Whatever works for you!!

In most magazines its says anywhere from 3-5 months away from the wedding is normal. My wedding is in September and I think my girls are planning for May (i'm a good detective) =)

I am an October bride too! Yay for us!! I will be having 4 showers.. two thrown by my grandmother one in Houston and one in Dallas on the weekends of September 10 and 17, one thrown my my FMIL friends probably done the last weekend in September, and one thrown by my bridesmaids the week before the wedding. I will also have a bachelorette party the first week in October. It just depends on what works for you. Mine are as far out as a month before to a week before the wedding.

My wedding is in November and my bridesmaids are looking to have the bridal shower in July/August. September is just a bad month for me work-wise and there's about 8 birthdays in September.

Plus, they were looking to do an outdoor/garden shower. So I guess summer would be better for that.

My wedding was Oct 16th, my shower and bachelorette was August 21st. My second shower with DS' family was Sept 11th.

I'm in October and I was originally planning on August, but my SIL pointed out that a lot of people are away in August. I'll probably do the first or second weekend in September.
