When to get nails done?

So my wedding is on Friday. Yay!!! When should I do nails, Wednesday or Thursday? I'll be less busy on Wednesday because Thursday I need to drive over a hour away to get my dress and rehearsal will be at 4 p.m. When are you going to do your nails?

    Thanks again..

I wouldn't mind shellac nails but never had them done before.

My wedding was on a Saturday and I did them on Monday... I wanted to get it out of the way because I knew the closer it got to the wedding, the more things would come up (it did). I'm not a fan of gel manicures but my nails still looked great until like a week *after* the wedding and I didnt have to worry about random chipping.

My wedding is on a Sunday- My plan as of now is to get my toes and nails done on Friday provided my mom and stepdad are here early enough. If not we will do it on Saturday morning. I only have a few things to do on Saturday- but enough to do.

I'm having shellac nails because they last really long and aren't fake. Probably about 2 days before.

Thanks, Ashley, for answering why no gels. I have really bad habits with my nails-- not a huge issue when your picking at regular polish, but pick at gel polish, and your nails are screwed. I don't trust myself to be able to stop :/

The morning of the day before my wedding. I had to pack & leave the night before the wedding to check into the hotel. My "glam squad" was arriving at noon on my wedding day. I'm glad I did it that way, we had a snow storm the night before the wedding.

I'm thinking of doing shellac so I don't have to worry about it. I'm going to do a trial run(yes for my nails) before my shower in September to see how I like the shellac. I'm thinking Wednesday evening or Thursday for my Saturday wedding. Mine always seems to chip within hours so I need something that will last!

I'll probably bring my own color for my toes so I can do touch ups if needed.

Probably Thursday rather than the day before. I prefer arcrylics and they make my fingers hurt for a few days. I'll have some final running to do in our area that Thursday so I'll include nails.

I am getting mine done on Friday for our Saturday wedding.

I made appointments for all my girls for gel nails. The only reason I am not is because we are going on our honeymoon right after and we are going to Europe for 2 weeks and I will not be able to take the gel off if they start chipping... and I am a HUGE picker when it comes to nail polish. It would bug the crap out of me and I would ruin my nails.

God I wish I could do shellac nails! Had them for a year before I decided I was highly allergic. Itchy UNDER my nails for days & ruined, peeling cuticles just weren't worth it. If you haven't had shellac before, please try it before your wedding nail appt!! That being said, I'm getting mine done (normal polish) on Thurs for my Sat wedding.

I did gel clear polish (and french tips) and so far not any issues....I do think if you get color it can be hard to remove and looks like it kinda stains the nail (but I don't have a lot of experience with this). It depends where you get the nails done. I got my toes and nails done for a little under $100 with tip included...and then I went and got just my nails done at another location for just $20 bucks for polish and such. IT really is awesome for how long it lasts...and as I chip my nail polish almost instantly it has made a big difference for me.

I have my brother's wedding this Saturday and all of the girls are getting nails done on Friday. I will be doing the shellac gel (I had acrylics about a month ago, but due to some issues with them I took them off). For my wedding, I will probably do the day before as well.

I'm planning on Wed/Thurs before the Sunday wedding. I have to drive and pick my son up from college on Fri. and I'm sure we'll be doing last minute stuff Sat., so I'd prefer to have it done and out of the way. The OPI lacquer that I use really holds up well!

Thanks ladies for all your input. It was very helpful. I don't know what I'll be doing yet, things have come up so my nails/toe nails are on hold.

Around here, gel nails range $20-30. If you SOAK them off, they won't ruin your nails. Peeling them off is what will make your nails week.

That said, I am getting my nails done tomorrow! (Gel mani and normal pedi!)

I plan on getting ours done on Friday for our Sunday wedding next year. I want everyone in the wedding party who wants them done to be able to get them. I will do a gel so I do not have to worry about chipping or anything. Gel lasts about 3 weeks on me even with doing tons of laundry, dishes and chasing a toddler. haha

I thought about day of... but wanted to go to brunch and be lazy that day.

Wedding is on a sunday, just booked an appointment for me, mom, and fml on the thursday before. I know saturday will be hectic with the rehersal and out of towners coming in, and friday is my "just in case day" to do anything that pops up at the last minute
