When to buy my wedding dress?

Sfam, on July 24, 2019 at 10:36 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
Our small wedding is in 5 months. Ive looked at David’s bridal online and added a couple favorites to my list online but haven’t gone to actually try some on or looked at them in person. When should I go and buy my dress? I’ve been waiting to go with my mom.. but we haven’t gone

I would go as soon as possible! My dress took 6 months to come in and alterations will take time too.

ASAP! I bought my wedding dress from David’s bridal in May. Unless it’s a clearance dress, it will have to be ordered. Mine wasn’t expected to come in until September. They already made an alterations appointment 2 months before my wedding date.

Go ASAP I ordered my dress at the end of December and it’s not predicted to come in until the end of September. The earlier you look the more choices you will have.

I feel like there aren't enough people yet to tell you to go immediately, so I'm piling on. They say 8 months to a year because typically dresses are custom made. They have to be ordered, made, shipped, fitted, altered and steamed. Sometimes 2 rounds of alterations are needed. Sometimes David's Bridal has off the rack options, but you'll have to see.

ASAP!!!! Chances are, unless you rush order if possible, you may have to get a dress off the rack. My dress took 10 months to come in!! David's will most likely be your best bet, as they tend to have lots of options, and seem to have more in stock. Even if they dint have your size at 1 shop, there may be another store nearby that has it.

I'd say go as soon as you can! You never know if you would find one you like right away, how long alterations would take, how long before it gets delivered.

5 months is coming quickly. Go as soon as you can. Some dresses take longer to come in and you'll want time for alterations.

If you want a dress from David's Bridal I would go asap! My dress took 5 months to come in and then another month for alterations.

My David's Bridal dress came in 2 weeks, but it does depend on how in stock they have it. Plus I did 2 shopping trips and honestly if I hadn't fallen in love with the last one I would have done another. You only get so much time to try them on

I bought mine really early (a year and a half early) because I felt better about having it. No matter what else happens in my planning, at least I have something to wear.

5 months is a really short window. I would definitely recommend going to David's Bridal or a similar store as opposed to a smaller or fancier boutique. I was quoted a 2.5 month time frame for delivery. I was lucky and my dress came in in 3 weeks. Anywhere with more specialized, designer dresses will take an eternity to arrive. You'll likely have the best selection at David's.

Go ASAP! They recommend buying your dress 10 months before your wedding! You will need time to shop, order your dress and have it come in, and then have alterations done. And some designers take several months to ship. At this point, you maybe limited to a quick ship option or an off the rack dress. So I would schedule some dress shopping appointments soon!
