When to announce our wedding party/reception through Fb?

Sfam, on August 30, 2019 at 12:59 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Our wedding reception /party at a house is December, when should we announce? It’ll be through Facebook. They’re about 50 people, and it’s mostly fiancés family side of the fam. Should I announce beginning of September?

Time wise, I’d do Sept or early October since many people’s calendars fill up quickly during December. I would be hesitant to invite people to my wedding via Facebook. I’ve never ever seen anyone do this. At least send a digital evite if you don’t want to send paper invites...

My sister in law set up an event on FB right after they had a date and venue. She still sent out paper invitations with RSVPs though

I wouldn't announce anything wedding related on social media. Save the dates are typically sent out 6-8 months before the wedding, so I think that's a good time for you to let you guests know.

This. Unless you make an event or secret group specifically for the people you’re inviting, I wouldn’t post anything on social media. That’s how you get people trying to invite themselves and put their noses where they don’t belong

Are you not sending invites and only using FB? I think this is a bit dangerous unless you want unwanted people there. You can see things on FB unless you make the a special way and you are likely to have people try to invite themselves or worse yet show up.

What about sending an Evite instead? Guests can still view invitation and respond electronically.

It’s a private event, not public. Sorry didn’t specify

Only the 20 guests invited to our ceremony that is at a chapel, will get paper invites. The chapel only allows 20 guest, so it’s only parents and siblings there. They’ll be getting paper invites. Our party is 3 hours later
