When is to early to book Vendors

Destiny, on April 17, 2016 at 4:30 PM Posted in Planning 0 26

My fiance and I are getting married on October 14, 2017. We book our venue already and I am a massive planning person. So I am wondering when it is too early to begin booking florists, photographers, etc.

I'd say it's never too early, especially for an October wedding. That gives you plenty of time to look around and find what like in your budget.

We are getting married sept 2017 and we already have everything booked. Every vendor we have talked with have said they are already booking multiple couples into fall of 2017.

As a 2017 bride myself I have already secured the venue/caterer, decor, photographer, videographer, i have a consult w MUA coming up. So its never to early especially if your planning for a larger wedding. You can secure deposits and pay them off bit by bit

    My first date twin!!!

We just booked our reception venue this week. It was the one thing I wanted to make sure I got done asap. I have a meeting with a photographer next week and I just started looking at DJs too. So I'm just starting to try to get everything booked.

I think starting early is great because it'll be less stressful in the long term Smiley smile

I would recommend doing some research and figuring out exactly who you want to be booking for your wedding plus save, save, save! Honestly once October rolls around is when you need to start booking vendors. Right now is a bit early. Use Wedding Wires check list. It gives you a good idea when you should start booking everyone. I suggest you do as much as possible once Oct hits just so you don't have to worry about it later and have plenty of time to pay everyone off!

Thanks everyone! It is super helpful! We are going to begin to start setting up consults and getting things moving. We want to keep booking as soon as possible. We were going to have the wedding in September but had to move it to work with the venue we were set on! We don't want that to happen again!

We have most of our big vendors booked except florist. .. I'm a week before you. .

. So I don't think it's tooo early especially if you're in a busy wedding area which I am. Good planning to you!

We're getting married the same weekend! Yay! I'm October 15, 2017. We already booked venue/caterer, officiant, dj, photographer and videographer. We have our florist and know the flowers we want. Also were doing engagement photos this month.

Definitely not too early. I had my vendors booked in August 2015 for our October 2016 wedding.

We booked a venue and the dj for our April 2017 wedding in October 2015, and the photographer and videographer in Feb. It's not too early, it's organized planning.

Fellow October 2017 bride! We booked almost everything a few months ago. Venue, videographer, photographer, transportation, lodging, and room blocks are booked. Working with a florist and caterer, so we just need to meet this summer and sign a contract. Never too early to plan. Most of the vendors we are working with started booking up for 2017.

Just be certain you are sure before you book! It's easy to get excited and start making decisions, but it's a lot harder to take them back. Smiley smile We are getting married in Vegas and a lot of the restaurants won't let you book earlier than 6 months out!

If you're in a populated area you'll want to book sooner rather than later. We have our venue, caterer, photographer, and florist. My favorite videographer and florist were already booked on our date which sucked and our venue had no Saturday's in 2017 left which we weren't expecting at all!

So I say if you have vendors in mind it's never too early Smiley smile

But then again, we live in San Diego which books up everything fast. Depends on where you're getting married, I guess.

I don't think it's too early! If you plan early, you get your pick of pretty much everything. I'm getting married in January, an off-peak month, and I've gotten several responses from vendors saying they are already booked on our date, and if you like planning and can get it all done early, those extra few weeks or months before the wedding you can relax a bit more and focus on the smaller details and double-checking rather than stressing over bringing all the big things together at once. I'm really enjoying the planning process, aside from the ridiculous expenses I wasn't aware of, it's all been pretty exciting for me! I actually booked my venue before we were officially engaged because I didn't want to risk it being booked on my preferred date. Also, many photographers and some venues only take a certain number of clients or bookings per year, and if you want to be included in that count, book as soon as you can! Happy planning! :-)

My FH & I booked everything about a year in advance. When we went to book our photographer we got lucky & got the date we needed. Our photographer was already booked out into 2018!! The same went for our venue! We decided on our other vendors early as well. It made it nice to have it all done. Now we don't feel so stressed and can enjoy the planning!
