When is to early to book Vendors

My fiance and I are getting married on October 14, 2017. We book our venue already and I am a massive planning person. So I am wondering when it is too early to begin booking florists, photographers, etc.

If you already settled on a date start booking now otherwise places might not be available for the day you want. We had to change our date because the reception site was not available.

It's not too early for any of 2017. We are already booking 2018.

I am a 4 time MOB. Do it. When DD #3 got married we booked her photographer in Feb 2008 for her May 2009 wedding. In Feb 2008 they only had TWO available dates left for 2009!

I think booking vendors early not only gives you less to stress about later on but also gives you a better chance of booking a preferred vendor as they book out pretty far.

My wedding is May 2017 and I have everything booked and done except the officiant and hotel room block

ETA I booked most vendors in 2015 and got the pricing for that year instead of the 2017 which will be more

Shelly, get your officiant booked! I'm sure May in NC is a popular month.

Destiny, if you have your date nailed down with ceremony/reception venue(s), book your officiant -- the only other vendor you MUST have. October is a popular month here, too.

Most of my couples book me 6-9 months in advance since many are elopements or small destination weddings. But, larger and more complicated weddings book 9-12 mos. in advance.
